  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Lol! not yet - it's only the beginning of the semester, so it's not hard stuff, just a lot of stuff to remember... And the other ones are in Abnormal Psych and then Humanities - also this week

Ooooo that sounds....not fun at all...:( I'll be praying for you!

And I will log off CF later - if I tried to study now, it would be a waste - I so wouldn't retain anything :( I know because I've been trying all day

What course are you actually doing? or is it a mixture of subjects? Sorry, I don't know how it works over there in the USA .

It isn't fun to do presentations but I guess I have to face my fear to make me stronger.

I should be studying too now instead of wasting time ...I feel your pain! Sometimes it is the getting started bit that is the worst., It is when you are doing your work, that you actually start to enjoy it. But then again, when I am revising..nothing goes into my head because I am stressing out too much about trying to take the info in.

It's alright :) I'm majoring in psychology...but there are general education courses everyone needs to take - they are mixed ^_^

guess so - plus you don't have to face the fear on your own ;) That always helps :)

Interesting! I had contemplated taking a course in psychology. It has always interested me, but nope I went with environmental science instead when science and maths aren't even my strong points. Talk about a challenge! It has been a great learning experience so far though.

What are your favourite modules?

..and what kind of things do you learn in general education? I guess that might be like the general studies a-level we have over here where you learn about government, society, etc.

guess so - plus you don't have to face the fear on your own ;) That always helps :)

I was thinking "how did you know that I am doing a group presentation?" and then it clicked that you were talking about God.

The basics - history, science, math, languages, etc.

Well, the group too, but God is probably more helpful ^_^

Thanks! I'm doing reasonably well, better than expected! Passing the course at the moment. The first year is about passing, the next two is when you really have to step things up but I am hoping to really do some intense studying for my exams now.

Modules meaning what exactly? :sorry:
My course is divided into seperate sections (modules), like for example..I have 1.) human systems, 2.) Environmental Techniques 1, 3.) Environmental Techniques 2, 4.) earth systems, 5.) life, energy and matter, and 6.) Environmental Data Management...making up 6 modules within my course. These are further sub-divided

The basics - history, science, math, languages, etc.
Ah okay, I kind of wish that I had that. It would be useful learning another language right now.

Well, the group too, but God is probably more helpful ^_^
He is definately and absolutely more helpful!!

Oh, um...I don't know if we have modules exactly like you do...we choose which psychology courses we want to take (based off where we wanna go with it)...so like I will never take evolutionary psych ^_^...but I would take clinical counseling I and II

Ah okay, I think I understand. What year are you in? Next year, I am going to have to choose two modules out of eight (I think) soon....it sucks being indecisive.

I hope so too! I will pray that you succeed at the course

Fifth year? Wow!! I would be in my third and final year now if I had started uni at the usualy age of 18, but I wanted to continue my a-levels and do more before making a decision on the uni course. By the way, a-levels is what you study after school (or high school as you call it there) if you want to continue education. People tend to finish those at 18 and then go off to uni, but I decided to study them untill 20 because I wanted to try out more subjects and see which one interested me the most/

Why are you bothered by school? Are you not enjoying it? Oh, and what languages do you know?

^_^ Thanks - I was going to say I have no idea what a-levels are

That's cool that you got to take some time to decide

I think I'm just burned out by it. I feel like I'm getting nowhere (my fault since I switched so much)....but even after I get my degree, I can't really do anything I want to until after I get a masters, so there's still more school to be done....it's just really daunting - and I'm SO sick of studying :sorry:

And Spanish - I was actually majoring in Spanish Education before

ijwts- i just bought a $200 coat on clearance for $50. yay, thanks God! It felt like a little present!
Oooooo sweet!

Oh dear! That doesn't sound fun at all...do you have to learn tests like spearman's rank, t-test, chi-square, etc? What are the other exams on?

I have an exam too, it is next friday and it is on water and organic chemistry. I'm going to have to revise how to do certain mathematical calculations, like working out solubility products....argh!!:doh::doh:I also have a presentation next Monday, double argh!!

Why don't you try logging off CF? :)

T-tests and chi-squares absolutely destroyed me when I took stats.

Hey, don't give up! You are getting somewhere, it is just that it takes time to get to where you want to be! The persistance will pay off. :)

That is the language I want to learn the most :)

Yep, tell me about it! If you make just one little mistake and everything else goes wrong!

I had to do them in my a-levels, and now I have to do them at uni :o

IJWTS yes!! No work or school tomorrow! Now back to my Spanish HW since my professor still wants to give us HW :(

I have no university tommorrow so I also get a day off!! Today was such a long day (6 hours in lab)...and I am tired. Good luck with your hw.

Oh I'm not giving up....I just need to stop complaining about all the opportunities I have

GAH - I'm so ungrateful, it's disgusting...
