CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

IJWTS I just realised I was wishing I had something new to read a few weeks ago, and for the first time in years I was swamped with books at Christmas! I am grateful God provides even when I forget I asked. And even if it's something small!

I felt compelled to bump this back up. It was an important comment.
I would also add, it is a shame when people use any thread or any other means to attack someone else. If you can't confront someone about something that is important to you, learn to let it go. Give it to God and pray for that person. Otherwise, all you are doing is reinforcing that negativity and allowing it to manifest in your own spirit.

IJWTS - I love when people pretend to know everything. I hope it makes them feel good about themselves!
I usually feel sorry for those people. Knowledge is extolled, but the pretense of knowledge is much worse than being ignorant.

To those individuals who are perturbed by certain comments put forth by the random poster: perhaps you should confront these individuals in private, lest you inadvertently become their imitators. Indirectly denouncing them in a public thread does not vastly differ from the behavior you deem reprehensible.

Thanks, yeah I agree. I hate seeing negativity here, especially when it is a derogatory comment about another CFer. Personally, if I had an issue with someone..I would PM them instead of slyly attacking them on a thread.

I can remember a song with a similar title called "Groove is in the Heart." But "Grove"? I've never heard that. It sounds like some kind of family-centered, rural southern title. Like a Christian story or something on the Hallmark or Family Channel. Am I right?
