I was reminded earlier of how easily some of God's people tend to be fooled by the wiles and deceits of the devil.
Oh how important it is that we not only read but study God's Word! Ya know what? God's Word is not so difficult. In the Book of John, Jesus tells us in very very simple and plain language exactly how we are to act, think, and speak. He tells us exactly what He expects of those who call themselves by His Name.
Yet we are fooled and justify our gossip by calling it "discussion". We justify our judgement of others by even twisting scripture. Some even claim some sort of Divine superioty. Just as some who speak in tongues look down on those who don't as though they were inferior and lacking in thier spiritual development. Conversely some who do not speak in tongues look upon those who do as being weird, phoney and confused, and possibly not even saved.
Fellowship is broken and friendships destroyed often over literally nothing in the overall scheme of things. These things are the result of an evil influence and are simply wicked.
We, as Christians need to heed God's message to us in II Chronicles 7:14:
"If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land."
May God grant us the wisdom and spiritual insight to look only for JESUS in others and may thier need for a Saviour be the only thing we judge, and may we live together in Peace and Love, in spite of those little differences, as He has COMMANDED us!
Friendship and fellowship is just too precious to toss away because of the lies and trickery of the enemy.
