CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Meanwhile, you know some of can't resist an empty thread labelled "Ignore Button."
It's kind of crying out to not be ignored!
Now, what use can we find for all this lovely space - quick, let's steal the thread before ANM comes back and realises we're here!

Happy Valentines Day! Today in the local paper paper the gov't had an article urging people not to get involved in silly western holidays and foolishly spending money. All gov't agencies were forbidden to recognize the day and notice was given that the police would be patrolling to ensure that restaurants, hotels and businesses were not out of line.
No police stopped to see me. I would have offered him a small chocolate heart if he had.
Basically (to stay on topic) The 'Ignore button' was pushed on valentines day.

Hmmm, "Ignore button". Such a handy little thing. So far I have only one person on "ignore". I like it that way.

I did use the ignore button on someone once, for about 2 days, but curiosity got the better of me and I found myself logging out of CF to view as a guest so I could read their posts. 
I realised at that point I was being ridiculous and took them off ignore!

It's the little orange colored button encircling a "!" in the top right hand corner of their post.

That button is for reporting posts that violate rules. To ignore you have to go to your UserCP, choose ignore list, then add the name of the person you want to ignore to that list. Be sure to enter it exactly as it appears on this site.

I'm just nosy not paranoid. Who could possibly want to put me on ignore and miss all those pearls of wisdom?
