Ok, so apart from homophobia, there is racism, sexism, xenophobia, ageism, stereotyping and many more forms of ignorance. Quite often there cannot be one without the other.

I would like to discuss those types of ignorance, because I believe that we don't give enough attention to issues such as racism.

So, is it moral to use a religion as an excuse for ignorance?

Is it moral to willingly remain ignorant, to avoid learning so you could keep your stereotypes and prejudices?

That's because you are stupid enough to believe that there are reasons to group people.

All I am saying is, for example, if we are not to judge a man by the colour of his skin, then why do we have a notion of black people and white people?

Racism occurs when we start to believe in races. Stereotyping occurs when we start the division of people into types.

Although I do think there are very good biological reasons to divide people into sexes.

i believe society is all messed up, we shouldn't see each other as races but has human as the person next to us because under that colored skin they bleed red just like me. I love how now when i answer survey's for applications i am no longer african american...i am simply black. Sometimes i feel the need to look down at my skin to make sure i learned my colors right b/c i thought i looked brown. What i truly find sad is racism within races, some guy a few days ago told me because i spoke "proper english" and i didn't walk around yelling up and down the street, and didn't have oh so many kids by 22 that i was only black my skin not by lifestyle and he was also african american. That truly burned my buttons so i don't fit into a stereotype that makes me look ignorant i am now not african american enough. *shakes head* gotta love this world.

Knowledge alone isn't enough to overcome an irrational fear or hatred. A person who has already accepted a conclusion will justify it, in the face of extraordinary evidence to the contrary, if they have some deeper reason to hold this conclusion that goes beyond simply wanting to be correct.

A person who has built their entire world view on a particular foundation of belief will need to, if they are presented with strong evidence against their foundational beliefs, choose to either accept the evidence and rebuild their world view, or maintain their world view at all costs. This choice can be unconscious; if the need to protect a belief is strong enough, evidence that contradicts it will be thrown out before a person ever engages it. It's not just a matter of knowledge.

There is always a point at which an incorrect belief will be destroyed, but the threshold for this happening may be much greater than merely learning more about the arguments and facts that oppose it. It's not easy to demolish your entire world view and build it back up.

The easiest way to protect false beliefs against evidence is to find a way to marginalize whatever events happen that would otherwise disprove a false belief. A racist who comes to know a morally upstanding Muslim/Jew/Whatever will categorize them as rare exceptions to the rule, and continue hating the rest of them. Even if every single minority that person meets breaks the mold, the racist will continue to find a way to remove these good people from the 'evil' groups they are a part of. Again, it's not just a matter of knowledge.

Materialists that are confronted with evidence that can't be explained with any known material model will still find a way to neutralize this new evidence, so long as it is more important for them to be materialists than it is to accept the obvious conclusion. Same goes for creationists. Or sexists. Or whomever.

It's most often the case that conclusions about the way the world works are arrived at for reasons beyond simple facts and evidence, and this prevents knowledge from having any effect on those conclusions.

The biggest problem of racism, comes from the minority communities leadership, and those who fall into the left side category of social issues. They need race to be a factor in everything, in order to get their way. I'm a white man. My father is Native America, my kids are half Japanese, and my fiancee is Indian. I get tired of the stupid ***-American names that go to everyone with a different skin color.

As for everything else, do you believe a 65yr old man can outperform a 20 yr old man at physical labour? Common sense applies to certain situations, and we can't constantly have an attitude of not wanting to single a person out for one reason or another. Safety first in everything we do, and sometimes that means people are gonna get their feelings hurt.

I don't think the idea of "birds of a feather" is honestly based on superficial characteristics like skin color. And that's what a lot of these ism's are based on from what I can tell.

Some convictions are based on creed. That doesn't make me ignorant ,unloving or a bigot. It is who and what I stand for out of love and with respect. I am growing in truth.

Ya Know in life there are line to be drawn. Boundary's that shouldn't be crossed. In your views or ideals you gravitate to impurity's. Are you growing in truth? How can you tell me there is love in homosexual impurity's? Well I can view in this setting as well. There can be love in a filth pig pen, but I don't associate myself with pigs. Now do we. How about if there are a people that want to have sex with animals? Would you draw a line there or would that error need to be would tolerated as well?

Comparing beastiality with homosexuality is unfair and extremely dispresptful because A. animals aren't in a position to make a choice based on reason and B. it removes the human love aspect that does exist between homosexuals.

My point is made by people never seeing the end of their demise. Picture portrait of lines crossed. Truth on the actions of impurity.Sin is distasteful and not appealing in the eyes of righteousness. Spoken out of love and with respect ,but never the less can beseem if looked upon differently.

I just don't see how homosexuality leads to demise. I do see how homophobia leads to their demise and in this case the slogan "jesus save me from your followers" comes into play.

What groups of people act in what specific ways? Certainly the cliche about birds of a feather refers not to appearances and inherited traits but to behavior- so yes.. a group of addicts who are not in recovery can probably be viewed as acting differently than a group of people who have never been addicted or who a group of people who are addicts but are in recovery.

Ignorance is not knowing... once someone has been taught facts they either learn them accept them and stop living according to their previous ignorance, or they have some type of learning disability or prefer to believe the disproven information. I'm not sure what to call someone that chooses to believe what has been disproven...

Well if I can't get it written correctly or understand /follow Jesus very well. Maybe you can read it for yourself and explain how to follow or understand what I have read. Romans1:18-32
