  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Oprah Winfrey is pulling out all the stops next week to get her candidate, Barack Hussein Obama, elected to the White House.

A rally planned for next week had to be moved to the Williams-Brice Stadium in Columbia, South Carolina to hold a crowd of up to 85,000 people because of the popularity of the event. The previous site could only hold 18,000 people and was sold out with thousands more requesting tickets to see Mr. Obama with Oprah at his side.

I find it hard to believe that no one, beside me, is not ranting about this unlikely duo and what is on their agenda. Does Obama know about the Course In Miracles, their New Age Christ, their New Age agenda?

If he 'does not' know about Oprah's involvement, and accepts her backing,
he is not fit to run.

If he 'does' know about Oprah's involvement, and accepts her backing,
he is not fit to run.

We will continue to watch this, and I will continue to push on Oprah and her friends to see what their response will be to these allegations that she is pushing a New Age Christ, that is different than Jesus!

It is a bit curious that Oprah can run freely in both camps, presidential elections and new age mysticism, and no one bats an eye.

Oh, come on! Who wouldn't accept Oprah's backing?!

Would you?
I assume you are a Christian, belonging to this group and all.
If Oprah is promoting a New Age Christ, would you let her promote you?
If you don't know Oprah is promoting a New Age Christ, better wake up.

It's about PR, which gets you elected. It's fine to say you would stand on principal as long as you realize you'd never win and are just out to make a point. I'm pretty sure this guy is serious about running for President though and not just trying to prove his Christianity to anyone. Politicians have to play the game with the rules that are already set, or not play at all.

If I were running for President, oh yeah I'd want her on my side!
As for your other statements, I don't even know what a new age christ is. There is only one Savior, and He is for all the ages, and He doesn't need a PR executive. He is so much bigger than any 'promotion'.

I assume that you too are a Christian, for the same reasons... Would you run for president in the first place? The political game being what it is, I fail to see how anyone could seek the pinnacle of worldly power without compromising a few values.

If the wealthiest woman on the planet wants to help your campaign...

This is just terrible!

If he gets the nomination it will be like 'Oprah got him nominated' and not himself with his own ability. Oprah's tv audience, in the future, would probably never even go near another voting booth unless she was driving another candidate.

sounds to me like 'you're damned if you do and you're damned if you don't'.

is it likely you just do not want him to win?

Oprah plays on the natural tendency of many people to feel victimized. People love being told how great they are but that they can't realize their potential because of the big bad wolf, whomever or whatever that might be. America is the wealthiest country in the history of the world, no one else throughout history comes close, yet we have a nation of victims. The constant assault by the main stream media and their message of how horrible things are just validates peoples inclinations toward self pity. Oprah is simply a major player in all of this latest movement. The hippies are no longer looking to acid and pot and moving away from their parents Christianity, they are now going to invent their own Christ. With the affluence, power and arrogance of many of these people, it shouldn't be surprising if this is what is happening. Powerful people have been trying to deify themselves since the beginning of time. Having giant statues made of themselves (Micheal Jackson even took this leap) or having popular artist encapsulate their image in some artistic form. Look at the endless array of giant paintings above the mantles of wealthy people. This is a simplistic look at all of this but it kind of gives my opinion on all of this, however, this to will all pass. Much ado about nothing. Have faith and know that God is God.

I agree there is only one savior, Jesus.
But Oprah does not, she believes in another and she is selling it to millions.
Stay close to the Jesus you know and don't take the bait on her world wide promotion.

frankly, i don't care who wins as I am apolitical.
I do care however about my fellow humans being led by the blind into the ditch.

Her promotion of Obama? I don't see the connection.
from the original post:
I find it hard to believe that no one, beside me, is not ranting about this unlikely duo and what is on their agenda. Does Obama know about the Course In Miracles, their New Age Christ, their New Age agenda?

The point is that Oprah is promoting a 'new Jesus' that is not the Jesus that the folks on this forum follow!

You don't actually expect a response from Oprah, do you?

And what's all this New Age Christ stuff? I think you're getting the issues confused.

i've been questioning miss winfrey's intentions myself lately. between her involvement with the new age mysticism (exampled from her bring iyanla van zant on board to her show) and the fact that she is backing a candidate from a party that was formed to KEEP slavery going-is just beyond me.

where is it that you think I am confused? Have you read the original post?
Ask Oprah what is with all the New Age Christ stuff, not me.
The point is that she is promoting a New Age Christ that is not Jesus of the bible, so again I ask just where is it that you think I am confused?

hopefully everyone will catch on to what she is up to before she can do too much damage.
Perfect scenario for the 'Strong Delusion' sent by God just prior to the emergence of the Antichrist. A strong delusion and a falling away from the faith is just what Oprah is preaching ,while pushing Obama for president.
Very curious!
