If you reject modern culture, I would like your feedback on my website Act Biblically. If you like modern culture, please do not participate in this thread. I am planning to start a meetup in El Paso, where I live, based on these ideas and I would like feedback before doing this.

Running a nutjob website seems pretty inline with modern culture. What exactly do you claim to be rejecting?

I am rejecting the culture where people call other people who they barely know "nutjobs".

All aspects of modern culture? Some of it is pretty cool such as the freedom of speech and religion.
These things precede modern culture. By modern culture, I am referring to changes introduced over the last 150 years. Freedom of speech and religion are currently declining.

That covers a huge amount of stuff. Can you be more specific?

Freedom of speech and religion are currently declining.
They are on the rise in the US.

In July you were considering Islam. Today you're labeling yourself Jewish. Why?

I tried all the major religions. Islam doesn't work for me because I can't relate to the Quran. Judaism doesn't work for me either because I can't relate to the Talmud. What I really like is the Tanakh (Old Testament). No modern religions seems to take the Tanakh seriously. I just changed my religion here to "Other-Religion". But I have nothing against any religion as long as it doesn't advocate violating the moral principles of the Tanakh.

I can be more specific, but I won't be. There is no point because those who I am trying to reach already know, and those who don't know, I can't reach anyway.

They are on the rise in the US.
Let's just agree to disagree.

Sounds like you only want input from people who already agree with you.

That's correct. Note that my first post begins "If you reject modern culture, I would like your feedback...".

There is a branch of Judaism that does; I forget what its called. Someone here knows? (Without adding rabbinical statements to the old testament, I mean)

There are things in the Torah you couldn't follow without additional material, were you attempting to follow it 100%.

You are referring to Karaite Judaism. Yes I am sympathetic to them, but they are very small.

That's the term, yes! Small or not, why don't you relate to them?

As I said, I am sympathetic to them. They don't have a synagogue where I live, so there is no opportunity to be part of a Karaite community. Also, they seem more concerned with belief than with morality. In this sense, they are further from the spirit of the Torah than Rabbinic Judaism is, since the Torah is primarily about morality, as is Rabbinic Judaism. And lastly, Karaites, through tradition, have actually added to the Torah, something they complain about Rabbinic Judaism doing. An example is that Karaites consider Jewishness to be inherited through the father. Rabbinic Judaism considers Jewishness to be inherited through the mother. But the Tanakh supports neither of these positions at all.

Not entirely correct.

When returning, the sons and daughters of Jewish fathers by non-Jewish mothers were sent away while the sons and daughters of Jewish mothers by non-Jewish fathers were allowed to stay. Since Jews would not be sent away, it is said that the product of a Jewish father and non-Jewish mother is not a Jew whereas the other way is seen as a Jew.

Sure, I can see where people would disagree, but it wasn't pulled from thin air.
