That is what I consider myself as well, although I also believe that God used evolution for the development of most of the diversity of life on this planet.

I was pointing out that the issue you raised was one that had been addressed earlier in the thread.

The problem is Vance...the bible tells of special creation....not evolution. Did you forget that point?
No, I don't believe it does. That is *one* way of reading it, but I don't think it is the correct way.

Here is the analysis you can use on any given Scriptural text:

If there are three possible ways to validly read a given text;

and one of the ways disagrees with just about EVERYTHING we see in the world around us (the evidence of God's Creation, his other Word to us);

and another agrees very well with the evidence of God's Creation;

why would you purposefully choose the one that contradicts God's Creation?

With all due respect....Special creation:

HEB 11:3 By faith we understand that the universe was formed at God's command, so that what is seen was not made out of what was visible.
Are you saying that the animals and Man were spoken into existence as was the universe, or that they were created "from the Earth"?

As for verses, you have not quoted a single verse anywhere for which the only possible reading in the original Hebrew is that God created everything as the YEC's describe.

Not everything is literal, not everything is allegorical or symbolic, and there are no absolute indications in the text which is which. That is the simple fact.
