If you had to spend one year a country that is not your own which would it be?

Hard to narrow down between my final 2. Italy, because my family heritage is from there and i've always wanted to travel there. I would love to have a year over there just to experience the culture and society on a daily basis.

My other would be Israel. I spent 3 weeks there studying earlier this year and I just loved it. I'm going back to lead a tour next summer, and I would love to spend an extended time over there. It is truly amazing to walk the places you have only read about in the Bible, and you will never read your Bible the same way again after having been.

Anywhere but AMERICA...HAHA only saying that because I have already spent time there (and I miss it) I would go to either South Africa or Rwanda or maybe Singapore. There is a lot of need in African countries and the culture is gorgeous. I have always wanted to live in Singapore it is a very clean country with low crime but very very strict too!

Erm, I don't mean to sound mean, but do you mean Fiji? Or is this somewhere else that I haven't heard of?

As for me, I'd go to Russia, or at least that continent. It would be interesting to see the Cold War from the other side. And see how/why it all went wrong....
I'd like to see Russia, as well. My mother's grandparents were from Russia and Ukraine...those two countries are beautiful, even though they get overlooked a lot of the time.
I would also love to see Ireland and Norway, to visit my dad's relatives.
But if I had to choose just one...I'd pick Ireland.

Probably Canada, I love all the pictures I see of the Canadian Rockies and really fancy going there, maybe when I get some money :sigh: . (guess I`d just have to watch out for the bears, don`t know what I`d do if I came across one).

Mark :)
Pull out your trusty .50 cal machine gun and blow it away.

jk

I do have a serious question though. The UK and Britain are interchangeable terms. So, the UK includes England, Ireland, Scotland, and Wales right? If so, do these places have a special name? In the US we have “states,” in Canada they have “provinces,” do ya'll have something like that in the UK? Also, how do you refer to commonwealth members like Canada and Australia? Just "the Commonwealth?" Finally, what does Austrailia call their states/provinces? I sure hope these aren't stupid questions.

"Folks, there are no stupid questions here. So don't ask them!"

France, Italy, or Bosnia.

France - because I love the language, countryside, and food.

Italy - again, I love the language, the countryside, the food, and oh, I love the people. I've always, always wanted to go to Florence. Ahh!

Bosnia - my fiancé spent three weeks in Bosna-Hercegovina last summer, on a study-abroad trip. It's breathtakingly beautiful, and the recent history is so horrific and it completely fascinates me.

I am intrigued by the cullture of these places. Yes, they are mostly in the Caribbean region where I am alreadyfrom but he Caribbean offers such a wealth of diversity and I am fascinated by the origins of these cultures. Also these places are places I see as being receptive to witnessing and to the Word of God.
