I use to love taking road trips, driving along and seeing the countryside and cityscapes. Now though with the numerous cars on the road, driving is really stinking. Humans are very different from each other and it really shows in driving on the road. It seems like we all have our own rules that we follow. One of my favorite rules to follow is drive the speed limit or a few miles over. We are on the road to get somewhere and so is everybody else in their cars. So, no dilly dellying.
Now of course, I don't expect people to drive the speed recommendations I follow. Some people will drive slower and some people will drive faster. But the law must be noticing a trend though that most be notice too and that is the slow driver in the left (passing) lanes. And states are starting to create laws that deal with that situation. "Slower traffic - keep to the right lane", yes, law enforcement is taking notice of you people who don't obey that new law. And it is about time. Traffic would flow so much better if ALL drivers would obey this law.
But what do some drivers see, the lazy "I'll set my cruise control to a certain speed and ride along in the left (passing) lanes". No, no, no, no!!! You people who do that screw up the traffic big time. Cars that are going faster than the cruise control driver are stuck behind that driver when the cruise control driver drives side by side with other cars going the same speed. Very quickly traffic accumulates and everybody starts slowing down.
So, here is the proper way to drive on the highways. Pass the car on the left and get back into the right lane. If there is a long string of cars driving slow on the right then quickly pass those cars and then get back into the right lane. Don't slowly pass these cars where it takes you 10 to 20 miles to get passed them. This is what those inconsiderate truck drives love to do (and most of the time, they aren't even supposed to be in the left (passing) lane.
So, please observe the new laws in states that state - "Slower traffic, keep to the right lane". Everybody's traveling experiences will go much smoother.
