If you died today and stood before God, what would be one criticism of your life you can think of?

I know it may sound morbid, but I think it can be edifying to reflect on this.

For me I definitely think God would criticise the time I’ve spent over the years claiming who is or isn’t Christian instead of focusing on my own walk.

I’m trying to be more charitable, and I’m trying to be more Christ-like in the areas that challenge my current outlook.

Yes, that can be a hard one. It is hard b/c we are asked to stand for his truths. One thing that can help me w/ that is we are all in need of a Savior.

The sin that most easily ensnares me is desiring marriage in unhealthy (sinful) way, including the coveting (idolatry) that’s involved in it.

One thing that helps me is remembering his way is always the best way.

You s/ learn that in (good) Sunday Schools when you're little, & it’s still true no matter your age or generation.

I don't think God would criticize me. I think that if I managed to get a life review, I would find many moments in my lifetime where I had fallen short and wished I had done things better, but thanks be to God that he loves me, these things are not going to be held against me because of Christ's redeeming work on the cross and salvation by grace through faith.

I’ve thought about the question and there’s numerous areas He could cite. But if I had to choose one it would be my approach to community and the lack of diversity. There’s not a lot of randomness in my life and most of my interactions are intentional. I don’t go outside of my comfort zone too often in that respect. I’ll do it for my calling but not for fellowship. I think that will change when we’re in a different setting. We’ve found a denomination that aligns with our beliefs and is community focused. There’s hope on that front.

If we truly believe that we are new creations and "what was before is gone", then nothing - our life or our character, personal faults etc. will not be scrutinized. We are forgiven everything, already.

Paul seems to indicate that our Christian work will be scrutinized, regarding various rewards. But this is something different.

However, we ourselves are our own personal constant judges throughout our life. We repent, we learn, we evolve.
