When a person is born again they change family lines. Once you were in Adam's family line, but now you are in God's family line. Death cannot take you out of the family line you're in no matter how it came about.

If your friend was a child of God when they died, then they were still a child of God when they stood before Him.

So you believe people are good? If so, how do you reconcile that belief with the following scriptures?

Psa 14:1 To the choirmaster. Of David. The fool says in his heart, "There is no God." They are corrupt, they do abominable deeds, there is none who does good.

Psa 14:3 They have all turned aside; together they have become corrupt; there is none who does good, not even one.

Isa 53:1 To the choirmaster: according to Mahalath. A Maskil of David. The fool says in his heart, "There is no God." They are corrupt, doing abominable iniquity; there is none who does good.

Psa 53:3 They have all fallen away; together they have become corrupt; there is none who does good, not even one.

Rom 3:10 as it is written: "None is righteous, no, not one;

Would your friend's own father (or your own father,) ever in a million years send your friend (if he was given that amazing power) to hell forever, all for killing himself in apparent misery?

That's your answer. It really is. That's only a human father I'll remind you....he might be the greatest, but he is HITLER compared to GOD as a Father in comparison....anyone disagree?

I hope you see that God's love is far greater then our worst mistakes, and if anyone demands otherwise and says this person cannot be saved because he didn't complete the so and so steps of salvation required by a perfect God with infinite love, to them I say: "Get Thee Behind me Satan" because God is not and never will be limited by our traditions.

God Bless you and the family involved in all of this. I pray for peace for you all. Know that God loves your friend. He truly does, and His hands are most certainly NOT TIED.

If the person was saved when alive, heaven is the destination regardless of what he/she did after being saved.

If un-saved the suicide brought judgement day that much sooner.

Both the righteous and unrighteous are judged. All are raised to judgment we are clearly told in scripture. Some to a harsher judgment for sure, but nobody instantly goes to heaven or hell, otherwise there could be no trial to decide that verdict now could there be? Therefore also, no justice.

His friend merely gets a longer nap while he waits, which is why death is likened to SLEEP in scripture. Of course from his perspective he will awaken "instantly" when God raises Him, much like our own experience at night when we awaken in the morning "instantly" 8 hours later.

I have no intenetion of starting a debate. I'm simply asking another poster how he reconciles his belief that people are good with those scriptures. If you believe my post is in violation of established forum policy, report me, don't impersonate a mod.

God knows the exact time date and method of everyone who will ever or has ever committed suicide. He foreknew it before anyone was even created. They chose death, and death they shall receive.
Ah. So, if suicide victims choose death, could we also say that cancer victims choose death?
It's a disease, depression. As physical as cancer, if different. And it can lead to death.

everyone goes to heaven...the bad the good and the indifferent....

what side of heaven they end up in is the question.....like Lazarus and the rich man...

I have a cousin that committed suicide.....

God is the judge....but killing oneself is paramount to murder, is it not?? God is not going to be happy, but remember that judgememnt is up to Him and Him alone....

in His service

How could a saved person, that has eternal life abiding in them, kill themselves? It is impossible.

Not everyone that saith unto him Lord Lord will enter the kingdom of heaven. Do you think that suicide is, as Jesus said, "doing the will of your Father which is in heaven"? I think not.

Also, depression and cancer are curses which came from the law. This part is where God talks about what happens if you don't hearken to his voice to do what he commands:

depression and madness: Deu 28:28 The LORD shall smite thee with madness, and blindness, and astonishment of heart:

cancer: Deu 28:27 The LORD will smite thee with the botch of Egypt, and with the emerods, and with the scab, and with the itch, whereof thou canst not be healed.

bad luck, cowardice: Deu 28:25 The LORD shall cause thee to be smitten before thine enemies: thou shalt go out one way against them, and flee seven ways before them: and shalt be removed into all the kingdoms of the earth.

Plus, we also know that Saul from the old testament, an evil man, as well as Judas Iscariot, killed themselves, which gives further credence to the theory that suicides go to hell.

1Sa 31:4 Then said Saul unto his armorbearer, Draw thy sword, and thrust me through therewith; lest these uncircumcised come and thrust me through, and abuse me. But his armorbearer would not; for he was sore afraid. Therefore Saul took a sword, and fell upon it.

We (the church) have had the cure to cancer for 2 thousand years now. His name is Jesus.

I need prayer right now, because the thought of suicide has been slowly drifting on my mind. I am having relationship problems and don't know what will happen and if I lose her I don't think I would want to go on. I have had a talk with a friend of mine about this subject and I don't know what happens to a suicidal person when they die, but if they do go to heaven then it will be better than making alot of mistakes as I have made.

I have a feeling that they don't. But I don't believe in everlasting torture either.

"Ah. So, if suicide victims choose death, could we also say that cancer victims choose death?"

No, I don't think it would be accurate to say that. Who chooses to get cancer or to knowingly do things that they know will give them cancer? You shouldn't go the smoking route here either, as people who smoke and I used to be one, don't do it to give themselves cancer.

"It's a disease, depression."

Yes and it's not a disease that automatically causes people to kill themselves. Not everyone who has depression kills themselves. Some people actually fight depression, seek help and get their lives back.

"As physical as cancer, if different."

The reasons for depression vary, it could be chemical, neurological or hereditary. Also, depression doesn't attack the body in the same way that cancer does. You will not die from depression alone, the way you can and will from cancer.

"And it can lead to death."

Yes, but it's not the same as suicide where a person makes a concious choice to end their life and end it rather quickly. I think you would have been better off drawing a parallel between alcoholism and suicide.

The following statement is not a joke. I think some people tire of this world and all its crap and garbage and may long to hurry up and be with God. Therefore suicide could become appealing to them.
