So you believe people are good? If so, how do you reconcile that belief with the following scriptures?I think, by whatever method, God is gathering his own. It is a common saying that the good die young; and the evidence of it is all around you.
Two young girls, both a credit to thier families killed in a tractor trailer accident, (Brampton not long ago).
A tractor trailer driver, a good man who always stopped to help stranded motorists, - and a truck driver rodeo champion, killed on Highway 400 when two young men road racing cut him off, and rather than crush them to death, he took his truck off the road and for a few seconds put on a display of driving skill fighting to keep it under control, till he ran out of room and was killed.
British Columbia about 8 years ago. - A mother out horseback riding in a woods with her two children. Suddenly a mountain lion sprang out of nowhere, knocking her little boy off his horse, intending to make a meal of him. That Woman, jumped off her horse, ran to where her son lay on the ground, and fought that mountain lion barehanded. She was killed; but she saved her son's life. These may not be examples of "Suicide" but two of them come pretty close; and they are clearly examples of God taking the very best.
I have been asking friends and family this question and also trying to do some research on it and get mixed answers.
I ask this because a friend of Mine whom I was very close with in high school committed suicide on Easter Sunday.. If you know of any answers to this please let me know and thanks!

If the person was saved when alive, heaven is the destination regardless of what he/she did after being saved.
If un-saved the suicide brought judgement day that much sooner.
I have no intenetion of starting a debate. I'm simply asking another poster how he reconciles his belief that people are good with those scriptures. If you believe my post is in violation of established forum policy, report me, don't impersonate a mod.@ Zecryphon : If you wish to start a debate on that subject you may start a thread on it. Not here.
Incidentally, though I cannot remember where I saw it, I did encounter one example of a suicide in the scriptures. As best I recall the passage was non judgemental. it merely recorded the fact.
Ah. So, if suicide victims choose death, could we also say that cancer victims choose death?God knows the exact time date and method of everyone who will ever or has ever committed suicide. He foreknew it before anyone was even created. They chose death, and death they shall receive.
I have a feeling that they don't. But I don't believe in everlasting torture either.I need prayer right now, because the thought of suicide has been slowly drifting on my mind. I am having relationship problems and don't know what will happen and if I lose her I don't think I would want to go on. I have had a talk with a friend of mine about this subject and I don't know what happens to a suicidal person when they die, but if they do go to heaven then it will be better than making alot of mistakes as I have made.

It's a disease, depression. As physical as cancer, if different. And it can lead to death.

"It's a disease, depression."
"As physical as cancer, if different."
"And it can lead to death."
The following statement is not a joke. I think some people tire of this world and all its crap and garbage and may long to hurry up and be with God. Therefore suicide could become appealing to them. How could a saved person, that has eternal life abiding in them, kill themselves? It is impossible.
Not everyone that saith unto him Lord Lord will enter the kingdom of heaven. Do you think that suicide is, as Jesus said, "doing the will of your Father which is in heaven"? I think not.
Also, depression and cancer are curses which came from the law. This part is where God talks about what happens if you don't hearken to his voice to do what he commands:
depression and madness: Deu 28:28 The LORD shall smite thee with madness, and blindness, and astonishment of heart:
cancer: Deu 28:27 The LORD will smite thee with the botch of Egypt, and with the emerods, and with the scab, and with the itch, whereof thou canst not be healed.
bad luck, cowardice: Deu 28:25 The LORD shall cause thee to be smitten before thine enemies: thou shalt go out one way against them, and flee seven ways before them: and shalt be removed into all the kingdoms of the earth.
Plus, we also know that Saul from the old testament, an evil man, as well as Judas Iscariot, killed themselves, which gives further credence to the theory that suicides go to hell.
1Sa 31:4 Then said Saul unto his armorbearer, Draw thy sword, and thrust me through therewith; lest these uncircumcised come and thrust me through, and abuse me. But his armorbearer would not; for he was sore afraid. Therefore Saul took a sword, and fell upon it.
We (the church) have had the cure to cancer for 2 thousand years now. His name is Jesus.
