• The General Mental Health Forum is now a Read Only Forum. As we had two large areas making it difficult for many to find, we decided to combine the Mental Health & the Recovery sections of the forum into Mental Health & Recovery as a whole. Physical Health still remains as it's own area within the entire Recovery area.

If you are having struggles, need support in a particular area that you aren't finding a specific recovery area forum, you may find the General Struggles forum a great place to post. Any any that is related to emotions, self-esteem, insomnia, anger, relationship dynamics due to mental health and recovery and other issues that don't fit better in another forum would be examples of topics that might go there.

If you have spiritual issues related to a mental health and recovery issue, please use the Recovery Related Spiritual Advice forum. This forum is designed to be like Christian Advice, only for recovery type of issues. Recovery being like a family in many ways, allows us to support one another together. May you be blessed today and each day.

Ever feel this way:

mocked

spit upon

laughed at

rejected by friends

betrayed by your friends

bullied

shamed

humiliated

dumped

beaten

broken

He said to remember that they hated Him first John 15:18-27

Jesus was God in flesh

He knows....He knows our pain and infirmities

He walked in our shoes!

ps-I viewed Passion of the Christ for the first time tonight. And it really brought home how badly he suffered.
Wonderful film. I have it and watch it periodically.

In His suffering Jesus also shows what we have to go through. He went through deepest darkness so He could lead us through it. One of the main reasons i love Him so much. What an awesome saviour we have to suffer and die so He can lead us away from it all.

Indeed it did. To some it's just torture porn, to me it's about perseverance, commitment and the ugly road to something very holy. Seeing all the suffering is the point, and it makes one think.

Another, very different film I really love is Martin Scorsese's Silence. It's quite harrowing too, and very...different. It's about doubt, and about the essence of faith when it's stripped of religion, pride and boundaries. I think it's also about a certain kind of perseverance, about that spark of faith that's hard to kill. Not an easy movie to watch, but I do love it. It broke me when I watched it, and then I started coming together again in a wonderful way.

Yes, I used to be picked in school. So there were a lot of instances where I was publicly ashamed and laughed at. Beaten up. and when I got home, it didn't improve either. But after 14, things got better. Now that I think of it, it was for the wrong reasons, After discovering a therapist and finding medications, I also began to self-medicate. So when I drank, I noticed that my mom wouldn't hit me or get in an argument with me, and I kind of used that for a while, till I was hooked and had moved onto harder drugs. Whatever, things are better now, or as good as they can be. I have come a long way

I'm sure that took a tremendous amount of hard work! And tons of insight into yourself.

We are collectively joined together through our sufferings...to Christ
