Anthropology? Not even a science.
All right, I've had too much fun Poeing (is that a word?) you guys. I didn't think it'd be this easy, considering the TE in my profile.
the bible doesn't lie, its just very nonspecific and mysterious
care to continue trying to destroy someone else's faith? Bc that seems to be what most atheists are trying to do for some odd strange reason.
would you like to see the sudden riddance of spirituality on earth? seems like you do.
I think everyone's perception of God changes a little bit day to day.
i think atheists and christians can coexist just so long as they have something to benefit from each other.
What so it's a fight to the death? (cue Star Trek music)consol said:No they can't (peacefully coexist), they are diametrically opposed to each other,

Well, we could talk about the weather or sports or literature or politics or biology or math or astronomy or photography or drama. You know, stuff human beings talk about. Not quite, just separation, I am sure they would not like to be around me while I laugh at them,
and I would not like to be around them feeling sorry for them, we would have absolutely nothing in common,
after all, they believe in magic and I don't, what would we have to talk about?

Odd. I can go for years chatting with colleagues about many subjects without knowing their religious beliefs or lack thereof. With pretty well every subject coloured by religion.
I'd feel that you didn't know how to spell very well. How would you feel about me if you knew I truly believed in Santa Clause?
Frankly, that's how I feel about you right now. Most people are able to get along with each other just fine, and are content to let differing religious, philosophical and political beliefs alone if they're likely to cause tension. I've known people with all sorts of odd beliefs; the idea that I would be better off simply not talking to such people strikes me as bizarre. You seem to have a bit of a monomania going here.you would not look at me as if I was completely all there, would you?

Yes, I'm familiar with religious people (being one myself), and with creationists in particular. They're mostly just people. They include fools, knaves and jackasses like the rest of the species, but many are fine human beings whose friendship and wisdom I value. I just don't want them teaching science to my children.Perhaps you are right, it's me, I was thinking about creationism, that scares me to death,
that, I would not like to be around, I don't suppose it would bother you,
plus being an American, freaky religions are not unknown to you.
As a Brit we don't see many religious people, but you are obviously at home with them.

As far as Santa Claus goes, there might be better analogies available to you. An adult who believes in Santa Claus is likely to be a very odd duck, simply because that belief receives no support from adult society. In contrast, I won't agree with someone who believes in astrology or in lucky numbers, but I don't think they're nuts. They're products of their society, as are we all.
