If the devil stopped providing his services... If the devil stopped tempting people, would sin cease to exist? How is the devil exactly involved in sin? Can't we sin without him? Isn't he a useless part of the process?

Part of what process, exactly?

No where in the Bible are we told that sin exists only because the devil does. But God does allow him a sort of supremacy over the temporal world. He is permitted by God to incite sinful conduct in people, which serves in the end to display God's power when He confounds Satan's efforts and redeems people from his destructive grasp.

The devil doesn't make people sin.

We'd be just as sinful even if there were no devil at all. That he is a tempter doesn't mean there isn't temptation even without any of his aid.

When I sin--which is just about all the time every day--that's my fault. Devil or no devil. Is any of it because of a whispering spirit? No idea. At the end of the day the devil is, really, just not important. I'm not saying he's not real, I'm just saying he doesn't matter. The Christian proclamation that Christ is risen is also the proclamation that the devil is a defeated, caged animal.

With the 1000 year millennium he gets bound and there's peace and then he comes again and you get war. If it hadn't been for satan I don't know if people would have fallen into sin. Maybe, but I can't imagine that. Why on earth would you sin if you weren't mislead? Baby's that die go to heaven and never rebel against God.

Men are sinners by nature, not because Satan makes them sin. Read Romans 5.

No. Consider James 1:13-15 (NLT),

13 And remember, when you are being tempted, do not say, “God is tempting me.” God is never tempted to do wrong, and he never tempts anyone else. 14 Temptation comes from our own desires, which entice us and drag us away. 15 These desires give birth to sinful actions. And when sin is allowed to grow, it gives birth to death. (Bold emphasis added)

He is the deceiver of the whole world (Revelation 12:9). The following link will be helpful in explaining who Satan is and how he operates~~~> http://web001.rbc.org/pdf/discovery-series/know-the-enemy-revealing-truths-about-satan.pdf

Absolutely, see #1.

I would imagine that he serves his purpose.

He whispers in your ear. That's about it.

Tell that to Job! To answer the OP's question, original sin would still exist, and therefore our sinful nature (flesh) would. The devil is just an activator, but our sin is still apparent with or without him around.
