i didn't know that, thanx for telling me. and let me ask you a question. if someone in a muslim country burned the bible, which contains stories about jesus (who you believe is a prophet), how would people react to it? because here in the west, if someone burns a bible the reaction would not be considered by the politicians, like it probably would if someone burned the quaran.

You live in the U.S.? Christians are the MAJORITY here. Christians where I'm from mock everyone elses beliefs, but when someone says somthing back suddenly they're being persecuted. You guys should get rid of your persecution complex.

There was a pretty well known film released based on Nikos Kazantzakis book "The Last Temptation of Christ" that was demonstrated against by many Christians some years ago.

The most will known film I'm familiar with about Muhammad was called "The Message" and it was demonstarted against by many Muslims... even though there was no image of the Prophet.

So yes.. if there was a film "mocking" Prophet Muhammad there would be a reaction.

Should there have been a reaction to "Life of Brian"?

I know about that film and saw a few snippits of it and I decided I didn't want to see it....

While I saw Mel Gibson's film "Passion" I didn't like it. I thought it was too much influenced by a Catholic Nun (Can't recall her name) who Gibson drew from.

We Baha'is are forbidden to use the image of a Prophet of God in a play or movie as we believe it is being disrespectful. But we can go to movies.

I'm not sure what you're trying to say. Are you trying to say Christians should have been offended by "Life of Brian"? If so, why weren't they? That's a question only the Christians can answer. If Christians are too accepting of satire that mocks Christianity, that's not Islam's fault.

Of course, one also needs to consider that we have more freedom of speech in the west.

Usually, if you make a big fuss about any satire it usually gets way more viewers to see what the fuss is all about, but if you ignore it and act like it's not a big deal it's just a joke that dies soon.
