Not really, no.

Moral realism does not require universality. It is possible for moral realism to encompass contextual moralities where facts regarding specific contexts can influence the moral principles that are in play.

Well its not moral absolutism.

Wouldn't moral realism include objectivity anyway? Why wouldn't moral realism require objectivism being realism claims we have literal objective moral knowledge?

Do you think objective morality includes moral realism, then?

"Moral objectivism" (not to be confused with Ayn Rand's philosophy called "Objectivism") is often used as a synonym for "moral universalism", so I will use the term your way here.

Moral realism, in essence, supports the following points:

  • Ethical sentences express propositions.
  • Some such propositions are true.
  • Those propositions are made true by objective features of the world, independent of subjective opinion.

It may be that objective features of human nature could lead to quite a bit of sameness in prescriptive morality from individual to individual, however, objective features of the world include differences between individuals. In principle, at least, individual differences could lead to different ethically optimal courses of action in similar situations. (I'm not suggesting that "anything goes" and that some people are entitled to murder, steal, or rape.)

Do you think objective morality includes moral realism, then?

No, moral objectivism is just one of a large number of possible ethical styles included in the metaethical category moral realism.
