If Jesus returned this Christmas eve.
I wonder what He would think.
while he looks upon the children,
and sees they've been decieved.

If Jesus returned this Christmas.
Do you think He would be dismayed?
When He sees the children dreaming,
of santa, with his reindeer, and flying in his sleigh?

If Jesus returned this Christmas
Do you think that he might cry?
When he sees that children everywhere
are believing in a lie.

If Jesus returned this Christmas.
Would it come to you as fright?
If He noticed that the children,
in gifts of the world, do take delight?

If Jesus returned this Christmas.
Would you be too swept away,
by all the festive gifts and bows,
to see Him on that Day?

Thanks oncewaslost! That's just what it's meant to do.

It seems that nowadays Jesus just gets swept into a corner, and brushed aside, while everyone gives santa the glory.

May we never forget the greatest gift that's ever been given to us! His name is Jesus, and he offers us eternal life.

I don't think necessarily that if Christmas is celebrated including Santa Clause that people forget about Christ. If they do, then they most likely didn't believe in him in the first place. Personally, I think that children should be taught to worship and praise Jesus, but also to have dreas and fantasies. I wouldn't change anything about the Christmas surprises I had when I was little(r). Good poem, though. It did make me think.
