If God is the source of everything that is good, perfect, and prosperous, what reason would anyone have for betraying him?

.................

What is lacking in God's beginning creations that would make them want to betray him?

The answer has always been the same : Because People are so self consumed with wanting authority, control, hedonism of many kinds, and not waning to be told how to live.....that God the Creator becomes an affront to their desired autonomy ; so much so, that, they will go to extraordinary lengths to make excuses for betraying him . Some of the more popular excuses are and have been :

1. God doesn't exist. He isn't necessary for a personal intelligent highly engineered Universe .

2. We aren't anything special....just an evolved glorified piece of pond scum that gave us our accidental existence . So our purpose is to enjoy whatever lifestyle we deem fit for ourselves regardless of it being right or wrong. As atheist Dawkins recently said : ' The Human Fetus is as important as a Farm pig'

3. There are no absolute moral laws so I can live as I like with no ultimate moral accountability (except when the Person gets morally violated by Another does their mantra fall to pieces) .

In short, to many, even the very Creator of the Universe who is also the Creator of their Soul....becomes an unwanted fly in the ointment. This is the arrogance, rebellion, and pride that exudes with so many Charade Players concerning God. Then, a good many of these fine Folks simply cant understand why a good loving God would cast such people into a Godless presence called Hell forever ... in a further excuse not to allow God in their lives. Such is the self deception that Atheism asks of an Individual .

One particular interdimensional being (Satan) thought that somehow he could be God in place of God. He thought he could take that spot for himself as supreme ruler of the universe. It was pride that led him to this conclusion, he traded humble exaltation of God for prideful exaltation of self. Why? Who knows.

This same being convinced the first humans that they could become gods in their own right and need not be where they were intended to be on the created hierarchy. He convinced them that they could be at the top of the latter and be gods themselves. They stupidly believed him and acted out in pride, thereby forsaking their fellowship with God and bringing sin into the human race.

My ultimate answer is that God ordains absolutely everything that comes to pass, including transgression and evil. This doesn't mean he authors it, but nothing happens ultimately unless it is in some sense ordained by God. I believe that God ordained evil for the purpose of ultimately vanquishing it forever, to magnify his eternal justice and thereby glorify himself.

God alone is worthy of self-exaltation, and his self-exaltation is essentially the reason for everything in existence.

If God is the source of everything that is good, perfect, and prosperous, what reason would anyone have for betraying him?

What reason would Satan have for abandoning God if God satisfies him in every way possible?

What reason would Adam/Eve have for disobeying God if God planted them in a paradise with everything they could ever need? What part of a worry-free life in eternal paradise isn't appealing enough?

What is lacking in God's beginning creations that would make them want to betray him?

1) Selfishness. Wanting to be in charge, the ruler/'god' of my own life, doing the things that I want to do, when I want to do them and how I want to do them.

2) Selfishness. He wanted to be god.

3) Adam & Eve did not know the difference between good and evil, like we do. Satan enticed them to eat of the forbidden tree, telling them that if they did, they would be 'like God'. While Satan may have tricked them into eating of the tree, Adam & Eve made the choice to do it after God had told them not to, thus, the first 2 sins were committed.

4) Nothing was lacking. God gave man the freedom of choice and Adam & Eve made the wrong one.

People's desires and how they respond to those desires are not completely rational; often they are impulsive or highly irrational.

I don't find it at all strange that people might desire something beyond what they need or is truely good for them, or grasp after it.
