• Starting today August 7th, 2024, in order to post in the Married Couples, Courting Couples, or Singles forums, you will not be allowed to post if you have your Marital status designated as private. Announcements will be made in the respective forums as well but please note that if yours is currently listed as Private, you will need to submit a ticket in the Support Area to have yours changed.

  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

If creationism was ever taught in the science class.

The problem of incorporating God into science is that God cannot be tested.

And thus my statement that until scientists can build a machine sensitive enough to do this:

2 Kings 6:17 said:
And Elisha prayed, and said, LORD, I pray thee, open his eyes, that he may see. And the LORD opened the eyes of the young man; and he saw: and, behold, the mountain was full of horses and chariots of fire round about Elisha.

--- they have no right to assert that God doesn't exist.

Wow, that's good. And the Korean scholar Yi I was born on the circle called 38°N, or so I'm told. I currently live at roughly 56°20' N, while my real home is somewhere between 47°N and 48°N. So cool, isn't it?

And the point is?

Ok, this is the crux of your misunderstanding. Fortunately it a simple misunderstanding:

Science does not assert that God doesn't exist.

Science does no such thing.

Science simply says that God isn't needed. BIG difference. God can easily exist. Science simply does not have the ability to test for the supernatural, therefore, it ignores the possibility of God.

Because even if God was known to exist, it would do nothing to change science.

Science DOES NOT say there is no God. Scientists may say so, but Science does not.

If you're having trouble with the word "scientists" --- simply use the word "atheists" instead.

Falsely equating scientists with atheists again, even though you know that is not correct.

Tisk tisk, AV. I see you consider honesty a vice instead of a virtue.

edited to add: And mushrooms do what you want to have shown. They have all kinds of hallucinatory effects, that one shouldn't be that hard to come by.

I assumed that you would realize my answer bypassed a step. In giving my answer I implied that you are equating Science with scientists; the one you should be concerned with is science. Scientists are just fallible people. Ignore them if you want; but don't come around here talking about science if you don't know any.

I'll clarify next time.

With the exception of those like Arunma, you can't tell them apart here.

I triple-dog-dare you to find any thread where I talk about science for any length of time.

Who cares. We live in a world that is bigger than Christian Forums. At least, I do. Don't know about you.

But reality can take a hike, right AV? Should I add honesty to the list of things that can take a hike for you?

That's right --- reality can take a hike.

Because when Reality shows up, some [unfortunately] are going swimming.

Revelation 20:15 said:
And whosoever was not found written in the book of life was cast into the lake of fire.

Hike or swim --- the choice is yours.

I'll go for honesty. You know, the opposite side you go. It seems to me that if I have to hedge my bets, the honesty people who take heed of the reality God (if he exists) would have created will be better of than the dishonest ones who distort that reality.

So we come full circle back to the, we can't prove it doesn't so we must assume it does, nonsense.
(which also applies to the Flying Spaghetti Monster as well)

When are you going to grow up AV? these are the musings of a child, not an adult.

The Bible says otherwise.

That's ok, it's not the only stupid thing said in there.

Is God, His acts testable, verifiable, and repeatable?

No, No, a thousand time No.

(e.g. every time i let go of the ball, it falls towards the earth etc)
Does God exist outside the natural world?

Yes, Gods do exist, but only in the imaginations of the religious, along with love, hate, fear and the rest of our emotions,
because Gods are just emotions, and like all emotions, they are all in the mind.
