  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

is it in the bible?
That's it, if they can find a reference in the bible for this statement, then i might consider it, i would most likely read it up first myself but. God bless.

Absolutely correct.

Not to mention I would do teh same if a Christian said it... or if I thought it, or however the idea came up I would use the bible as the ultimate authority to judge it against.

Peace

Doesn't scripture mention the depths of the riches of the Trinitarian God? I agree that true statements about God shouldn't contradict scripture. But also, what do you think? Is God bigger than the bible? Could something be true about God if it doesn't contradict what's written but is not in the bible?

Consider that the opening of Luke's gospel tells us that not everything Jesus did is written there. Could Jesus still be doing things that aren't written there?
