So are you saying someone who has bad doctrine, yet has confessed that Jesus is Lord, and believes God raised Him from the dead, then they're not saved? Nope, sorry. Do you know what the guy on the cross with Jesus believed about baptism, or hell? Nope.

Bad doctrine may make one a bad Christian, but it doesn't mean they aren't Christian.

I never said that I dont think one is a Christian if he/she doesnt believe in Hell. I asked what did YALL think about it.

um, if i dont believe in what i am being saved FROM, how can i accept "saving" from it???? seems to me in order to decide to be saved, you have to think you need saving. that implies a reasonable understanding of the consequences of being a sinner, doesnt it???
I totally agree Lynne!

Alright, Sticking with this. What about those Cults out there that believe in Christ but believe in him different. Some believe that he came from the hell as a spirit, not in the flesh. Others believe that he was only a man who had to complete the law, that He was not God while on earth. Etc. Etc. Are they saved? IF they believe that he was just a man and are considered save, would I not also be also saved if I put my faith in budda, krishna, or any other regular man?

Post Scripture if possible.

Personally, Joe, I don’t believe that what a person believes about hell is a determining factor in their salvation. They may have never even heard of hell, or been misinformed, or mistaught, or just mistaken.

If it took 100% correctness about the doctrines of the Bible to qualify us for heaven, none of us could make it.

The Bible only says that four (maybe five) doctrines are essential to a person’s salvation – that is to say, things they MUST believe in order to be a Christian and hell is not one of them. See the thread on “Essential/Non-Essential Doctrines in this forum).
