CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Cool. I am going to start the thread in New Worlds in a little while, since 2 people already seem to have taken interest in it.(and Locket claims to not even like sci fi that much, so I am assuming this is a good sign)

Locket, one Idea that i've been thinking about, and trying to work up a plot would to be based on the Lost city of Atlantis. In it I could go one of two ways, either the Atlantians have gills, or they've created an underwater breathing device. Whatcha think of that?

Hey, guys, I have an idea. It is similar to the "Pligh of Ostentero" thread by ChesireCat, and it has somewhat of a larger scope. Like, here's the storyline:
It is almost 100,000 years in the future. Mankind has expanded across the vast reaches of the universe, exploring many galaxies. Mankind itself has also evolved in several ways. They have encountered many new races of creatures, both sentient and not, and mankind now stands upon the brink of destruction from a race of evil human-like people who serve evil beings. Even after this race is killed, there would still be plenty of room to expand upon the human empire. So, theoretically, it would lasy until no one wanted to play anymore.
It is also based on the "American Federation" thread that I have in the Creative Writings forum. So, what'da'ya think?

lol, good question. THe main reason was that it was christmas, and I've been told that I would pass for Santa, so I did a spur of the moment choice.
And I did take that rant to the extreme. I do hate santa 'cause he prom,otes parent's to lie, and takes away from Jesus. But if santa is done in a tasteful manner, I quess I'm fine with that. Although, my kid won't grow up believing in santa....

Hmm yeah that sounds cool. Well they'd have to be pretty advanced for that... the gills thing might work if you don't mind being attacked by Creationists
Or you could do it a little like the movie. You know where its situated under water and sort of in a cavern so it has air.

Has anyone read the book series "Pendragon?" In the book they travel to a "world" that is completly covered by water. In that book is where I got the Idea for a water breathing system...
And we all know that God created this earth, so what harm is it to RPG something that shows a little bit of the evolutionist side?

Even so, it is well with my soul.
Any new ideas, people? I am bored.... *wails self-pityingly* All the threads I was in died, except one, but its on standstill while Locket's gone. Technically, another thread I was in hasn't died, either, but my character in it is stuck in some weird dimension with the bad guy who seems to have disappeared from CF. I mean, really. *shakes head in exasperation* If you're going to be a bad guy and kidnap a character, at least show up occasionally so that character can still be a part of the thread...
