hi i work with another youth worker who is starting a creative writing course do you have any ideas he can use for his classes?

CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

anyway, i have a hard time coming up with my own creativeness. he could always do the life of a message board addict. that could be funny... or pick an event in someone elses life or a news story and elaborate on it. i know! i did something like this in 7th grade. he could chose an inanimate object like a flower, weed, toothbrush, chair, etc. and have it tell it's life through that viewpoint. i did a flower... err... actually it was a weed. that's about all i've got.

If this is a religious course he could have the students pick a biblical person and have them write a monologue from their perspective. I had to do that with the Woman at The Well. It was very thought provoking.

how about; An angel is sent from heavne to help a young boy/girl with there problems, write what the problem is and if the angel helps fix it.
