This isn't my room, but it IS awesome:
I love how he has the AV and power connections built into the floor, so you can just hook up a console near the sofa and play. No wires all over the place!
I would want at least a Sega Master System, Genesis/Sega CD, Saturn, Dreamcast, Nintendo NES, SNES, Gamecube/Wii, NEC PC Engine with Super CD, Atari 2600, SNK Neo Geo AES, 3DO, PS1, PS2, PS3. Other system are not necessary, although an original X-Box wouldn't be bad for a few games like Panzar Dragoon Orta, Jet Set Radio Future, etc. A Japanese 360 would be good for some shoot 'em ups. In general, I prefer to have mostly Japanese versions of consoles.
For arcades, I would want a Neo Geo MVS cab, the full Outrun and Afterburner machines, a version of Golden Tee, Pac-Man, and two Japanese candy cabs (one horizontal screen, and one vertical: with a good selection of PCBs I can switch in and out). Also, a pinball machine!

I would have it sectioned with one part an homage to the arcade I spent so many quarters in as a teen. Dragon's Lair, Battle Zone, Red Baron, Tempest, Pacman, Tron, Zaxxon, Galaga, Gorf, Star Wars, Afterburner, Altered Beast and House of the Dead.
The other part would have a pool table, foosball table, air hockey and a 50+ inch HDTV with PS3/360 hooked up and some induction-chargeable, sealed, wireless controllers. You know, so you could play while chilling in the jacuzzi and not have to worry about dropping them in the water.

For starters I'd be getting myself a Microsoft Surface. Use it for Risk, World at War, Diplomacy, DnD etc.
Then I'd get another 6 of them so a full party of adventurers can spread all their gear out and not miss any action. Also prevents crowding.
Also going to need a 'free' vending machine.
Going to need a dedicated set of tables for LAN parties ready for people to plug their machines into and get right started.
Would obviously need the WII, XBox and PS3 on a rear projection TV, and sufficient beanbags for sitting on.
That's the electronic stuff taken care of.
Going to need a felt card table for playing 500 on. I will quite distinctly not have any poker chips about. 500, the national card game of Australia.
Pool table, king-size snooker table and that would probably be it. My friends would be able to take care of the boardgames, I'm happy to play almost anything in that regard.
