Hey my car just died (a toyota yaris) and I need a new one (a used car). My Yaris was terrible in the snow, I live in Pennsylvania and we have bad winters so I am looking for a sedan with 4-wheel drive. Are there any out there? I would prefer a Honda, Yoyota, Hyundai, or Kia if possible as they are my favorite brands and are very reliable. Any ideas?

Alright, here is a list for you, brother. This is not artificial intelligence generated. If you buy an older car, you can get aftermarket backup cameras and tech to shove into the car, though that will cost money.

2WD:
Toyota Corolla
Honda Accord
Nissan Altima
Mercury Grand Marquis (typically driven by older folks who only put a few thousand miles on it), only one on the list that is rear-wheel drive
Buick Century

4WD:
Toyota RAV4
Honda Pilot
Subaru Outback
Toyota Tacoma (pickup truck)
Volkswagen Tiguan
Mazda CX-30

Splurge:
Lexus RX350
Audi Q5
Volvo XC40

Avoid:
Ford (unreliable)
Chevy/GMC (expensive)
KIA (break-ins, recalls, higher insurance)

Drove a Subaru for work, initially I didn't like it because it didn't work fancy after I started driving it,
it became the best car I've ever driven
Amen to that. :) Subarus grow on people, it seems. They may not be the prettiest cars, but will last two decades. The build quality is good, and the company is Japanese, which means high quality engineering.

The outback was built for the road rallies for the deserts and the harsh conditions, ugly but wonderful to drive
Haha, so true. The Outback could probably do well in the Dakar Rally. :)

Well, it has not been in the Dakar rally, but folks have modified the car for a rally known as the Alcan 5000 (never heard of that rally, but the Alcan is nearly 5000 miles long from Canada to Alaska.

Mazda, Nissan, or Subaru would probably work too, I have heard American cars (Ford, Dodge, others) aren't so reliable.

Actually, while American brand cars aren't the best in reliability, their pickup trucks and full size SUVs are actually extremely reliable.

Personally, if I lived in a place where it snows I'd go for a used Japanese pickup truck or full-size SUV with diesel engines. They'd be the most reliable vehicles on the road and the fuel economy will impress you.

Even AWD cars and crossovers can get stuck in the snow or mud especially if you wandered too far from the road but a pickup truck or full size SUV will have high ground clearance to get you out of tough spots.

The 3.0 liter turbo Toyota Hilux diesel pickup truck has similar fuel economy as your Toyota Yaris but with an engine with greater power and much higher torque.

That's the one
Very good car, handles well, seats get full support. Drove the car for 14 hours, thought I would be sore. Nope could have driven for another four more hours without any problems.

Japanese design, my friend. The cars made by Toyota and Subaru are very fuel efficient, and comfortable. Much better than American cars. So, what was your job making you do, as in driving 14 hours? You work in business admin or something, driving to meetings?

I did medical transportation. I drove people to and from their medical appointments and from there drug rehab centers back home. I drove 8 hours one way. On one trip and then 3 hours back. And the next week drove 7 hours one way and 7 hours back. Fortunately it was through some of the most beautiful country in the world so it wasn't too bad.

Thank you for your service to the community, and helping those with their vices and medical struggles. That sounds like a lot of work, but you are doing God's work for His Kingdom. Which part of the country were you driving in?
