  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

Ida?

More like Idaknow, as in "I don't know".

Any time I read that something will revolutionize the way we think about evolution, I laugh, because it usually ends up being nothing.

In this case, it seems that Ida contradicts the idea that we were formed from Monkeys. Now we might've just been formed from Lemurs.

I am still waiting for the other gazillion links that would make this one a valid proof of evolution. Maybe I'll just wait some more, and wait, and wait, and wait.:p:D

And while you're waiting, you'll fossilize, and then you will look like you're 50 billion years old!! ^_^

From what I heard, the search engine Google, ya know how they change their picture every day or every few days. Well their pic yesterday looked like a Navajo cave drawing to me. I was told that I should have clicked on it, because Google said that the missing link has been found, Darwinism is true, and we are now descended from Lemurs who are related to monkeys. But to me that proves Darwinism false, as Darwinism teaches we evolved from monkeys or apes, not Lemurs. Science rarely is that flexible on such a thing that they'll say "monkeys, apes, lemurs, it's all the same thing."

People it seems look for anything to clutch onto to get away from God. I guess their consciences are really bothering them. But I'm not too worried about this and really don't care all that much about the announcement, because in ten or twenty years, science will discover something else, that will render this discovery wrong.

I heard an interview with one of the scientists working with this yesterday, and he certainly wasn't claiming any 'missing link' status for it.
It's obviously a very important find, but I think the claims that it is a human 'ancestor' owe more to the tabloid press than to any serious scientific source.

I tend to agree this seems more like media hype then actual news I mean "40 million year old lemur is found" most people aren't going to bother reading the article however you tell them missing link is found and you got yourself at least 3 weeks worth of news what with arguing between evolutionist and creationist and all.

oh c'mon guys, dontcha know anything?

The theory of evolution is...

EVOLVING!!

(sorry, couldn't help it...:sorry:)

There is a poster somewhere in CF that has a siggy that says something like:

"My theory of evolution is that Dawrin was adopted"

I crack up everytime I see it.:)

That's exactly what my local news station did. They didn't really focus at all on the actual reasons to be excited about such a discovery (such a well preserved specimen). They focused on the missing link angle and the idea that oh whoops, we really come from lemurs, not apes. All the anchors were just so excited and beaming about it. It's kinda funny though, because while I'm sure those who are so excited about the nonsense are giggling with glee, thinking they've finally shut up us creationists, or at least caused us to run away scared. But honestly I have not felt one ounce of concern over the whole thing. Seems to me more like another desperate attempt by the media to warp a science that studies the wonder of God's creation into just a series of grasping at straws to try and disprove the Creator exists. And utterly fruitless waste of time, IMHO.
