From doing a web search so far, the only things I see for Pentecostals is images of flames or doves with crosses.

Charmismatic/pentecostal movements are distiguished foremost by the (real or supposed) activities of the Holy Spirt. A common distinguising symbol used among the movements to distinguish itself is a dove, which is shown as symbolizing the Holy Spirt when He descended upon Christ at His baptism. Toungues of fire are also very common. I realize you are meaning to symbolize peace with the dove, however. Yet I think many "onlookers" may associate it with the former. Whether that is or is not be an issue to consider, I don't know.

Oz associates flames more with pentecostal churches I think, & the dove with peace, but obviously I can't speak for US of A.

Well, that was the desired symbol of choice that was requested by this group so that is what we looked for. There are other dove images on the Anabaptist Icon ideas thread. I just looked for what was requested.

When I think "Pentacostal Dove" it's always flying face down toward the ground and is pure white.

Did ya know that those were like real icons, like the Orthodox use? Yeah, I stumbled upon those some months ago. They are not really to be "venerated" like the orthodox but they are in that tradition.

Yeah... so far, most Anabaptists do not update their icons.

I always thought about creating a icon of a "baptism and bible" together (maybe with a cross too). I am not that creative though.

Or a icon of feetwashing.

Just thought I would say HI All! I found another dove, thought I would pass it along and realized you were not interested in doves? For some reason Menno, the first time I read your post, I thought you said you remembered a dove you liked. So I just changed this message! It did say that I have an attachment. If there is anything I can do let me know.

Don't forget there are some that know how to create these things --I think. I purchased one from an auction here!!?? You could have a blessing drive and collect to pay to have someone make a design if you don't know how?
