You disagree because you are ignoring the science of how ice core chronology is done. The amount of snow falls during a season has nothing to do with annual layers or how they are counted.

No, it is not a matter of disagreeing with me. What you provided was incorrect information concerning how ice core chronology works. It doesn't matter if there is one layer of snow during a single winter season or 10,000 layers of snow during a single winter season. As I explained earlier, there are a number of ways to determine an annual layer. They include ratios of specific contaminants and/or specific ion ratios that are unique to specific seasons. Again, refer to my posts #9 & #14 which describe them specifically.

For example, the abundance of the heavy isotopes of Hydrogen and Oxygen is the δD and δ18O values, respectively. Those ratios are significantly different between winter and summer due to seasonal temperature variations. How many snows during a season (winter/summer) makes no difference in the ratios because it is not the thickness that is measured to determine an annual layer, rather the isotope ratios.

It documents large temperature swings in earths climate.
