  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

ummm, im not sure but would it be too much to ask to recruit some people to officially see that people make good characters and use them consistantly instead of all this using a character for just one RPG

or do people like it better without having steady characters?

Well, being that there are so many different genre's of RPG's, it's nice to be able to make up a new character, rather than have to use the same one over and over again. For instance, if you're writing in an Historical RPG, you wouldn't want to have an elf for a character, would you? Because of all the different story themes, we make different characters for them. Oh, and by the way, you're supposed to make a character and put the bio in the character forum. It's in the rules, Mega.

no one is allowed to post in character thread except the character's player. It might seem like nobody reads it, but people who play the RPG that consists of those characters do read them. I for one read them.

depends, ouse, i know how some people like using the exact same character, same name and personality across a number of RPG, but not so for others. DARRIONS got a point there, and besides, it's more fun (well, to me) trying out different personalities than just one. It doesn't mean that the characters can't be fully developed, but of course, you're right also in that there is such a risk. :)
