I don't know if this is a testimony, or what you might call it. But I witnessed and was emotionally, mentally, and physically a part of something, even if from a short distance and I cannot keep this contained within myself.
I live in a desert area with a lot of brush and have neighbors around me. We spotted smoke and called a fire in and as I was on the phone that fire took off so fast I could not believe how fast it was spreading. I told them it was headed right for our neighbors house. I then was off the phone watching this fire heading right for the house and my state of mind was one of complete fear for the neighbors house (they were not home). I pulled at my hair and cried out to God, please no, please God spare these people their home. I felt frantic as I begged to God to please please please not let it burn. My daughter was watching too although my despair was so great I didn't know what she was doing. She told God, "I can't watch". And as she turned she heard a voice in her head say, "turn around" (in other words turn back around). She did and to our amazement the fire split in two, one path going around the north of the house and the other the south of it. It went within a few feet of this house and then came back together as one fire on the other side, making the house into an untouched island. I still cannot believe what I saw. The fire kept going and went to a side of a hill I could not see but it was also slowly coming toward us. The wind was going east but the fire was spreading east and south. There is a small paved road between our property and the fire and by the time it got to that road the fire dept was there putting the flames out. It never jumped the road to our side where more houses were in closer proximity to each other. But that is a side thing in this post. I have not heard of one house or building being lost yet, the fire is now out and being soaked still though. But what I saw, I want to call it a miracle but of course I have no way of knowing if it was. I believe it was but how do I know that? To come that close, what possible scientific reason would have kept that fire from burning that house. It is literally a house surrounded by black charred remains of all the plant life but not the plant life that is up against the house. Did I witness a miracle? I am utterly amazed by what I saw. I feel like I watched a tiny parting of the Red Sea of my moment in time. Did God respond to our pleas? I believe he did. It was horrifying to see this happening, it was surreal but I knew it was real, and God answered my prayer, my daughters prayer and my grandkids prayer who were all seeing this happen. In the past few years I have seen God work in my life more than I have ever seen before (probably from my own spiritual growth working) but I have never seen anything like this. I just had to post this because I feel so overwhelmed I cannot stop thinking about it. I wanted to show others the power of God in our lives, and not keep this contained within myself. Saying "God is great" just does not seem like enough. There are no words to express what I feel. Thanks for reading this.
