Don’t have an issue giving to support a cause I agree with. And if people choose commit to the modern understating of tithe, that’s great, but it was specifically ordained by God to serve its purpose, and though that purpose is being met, there are manmade purposes for teaching a consistent tithe, that doesn’t serve that purpose. If I know where the dollar is going, I’ll give it with NO hesitations. Bc I want that need to be met. To tell me that im supposed to tithe because God doesn’t want me attached to money is ludicrous. He doesn’t want us to serve money, but he doesn’t say that tithe is his means of keeping greed out of our hearts.

If you want to think critically here, if you give tithe in order to be free from materialism, which is a very common note sung by many if not most pastors, you’re actually engaging in legalistic practices. Even for a simple reason as that, you should reconsider the way you give. When you attach a promise or premise to the act of tithing, it becomes a vehicle for us to use to get somewhere, when God has always told us that his grace is sufficient.

I will never tithe again. Convince me I should.

I pray that the Lord is with you all.
You're right. None of the New Testament epistles written to Christians speak of tithing. Rather they speak of the principle of practicing generosity. Since tithing is an obligation under the Law of Moses, it's not an act of generosity.

"Remember this: Whoever sows sparingly will also reap sparingly, and whoever sows generously will also reap generously. Each man should give what he has decided in his heart to give, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver." 2Cor 9:6,7
