Jim M I find it very sad that someone would come on here and say that they had a revelation from the Lord that what they believed and taught was wrong and you would take it upon yourself to try to trample that person.

Um, the OP did not say foadle received a “revelation” of the truth. That’s your assessment, not hers. She just changed her view.

Now, do you feel sort of silly or are you still just feeling sad?

No now I pity you. You actually believe that if someone feels like God revealed something to them that disagrees with what you teach then they are wrong. Poor man.

You have never gotten revelation, Jim? Please explain yourself. Or are you implying that Foadle is, for some reason, incapable of recieving revelation? or, only if it agrees with your doctrine?

Foadle did not say she received a revelation, no matter how much you would like to believe she did.

Here’s what she said. See if you can find the word “revelation” in the OP.

Hi guys. I don't know how many of you remember a thread a while back on whether or not God can lie. I argued that God could indeed lie but that he did not. I was very wrong. God can't lie. sorry to you all for expressing what was not truth.

So, where’s the revelation?

:sigh:

Save your sympathy for someone who needs it, Renee.

Aren’t you doing the same thing you are accusing me of? Aren’t you trying to make your views the product of “revelation”?

But I really don’t want to get into a tit-for-tat personal grenade-tossing character-assassinating word fight with you. Can we just stick to the “cannot” “does not” discussion?

time for humble pie Jim

This was never intended as a debate thread though I knew in writing it there was definately that potential. I but to rest one debate. Yes it was revelation. Yes I did have to repent and repent I did.
I also beleive that to come before you all and admit my wrong was important for any that teach others contrary to the word of God are dealt with much more harshly than those who just follow what they were taught. In so forcefully stating my position I was in a sense teaching and I needed to let you know that what I had said was wrong. Thank you for your support.
Now Jim give it a rest.

No, foadle, you weren’t wrong. With God all things are possible.

Faith is not faith until it's all you're holding on to.
Amen JimM!!! I appreciate your discussion here. It is not only intelligent but Biblical! God bless you.

The whole idea that God cannot lie is built on one scripture, Titus 1.12,

Well, actually not just one.

In I John 3:9 It says,...."Whoever has been born of God does not sin, for His seed remains in him; and he cannot sin, because he has been born of God."

We know, of course, that is referring to our new man in Christ, not flesh.

The scripture also says about us, the believer....."all things are possible to him who believes"

So we know from the first scripture, that 'all' doesn't include sin of any kind.

Our new man is created in His image. God can't sin. Now we can't sin either, from our reborn spirit.

Now Jim give it a rest.

Well, then, if it was a “revelation” who can argue with that? I mean, God has spoken, right. I am forced to believe that foadle’s “revelation” is infallible no matter what the Bible says to the contrary. So, I give up.

BTW, Did I ever tell you about my “revelation” that the belief that physical healing is in the atonement is not only incorrect but heretical, damnable, sacrilegious and a doctrine of devils? You gotta believe me because, you know, it was, like, a revelation.

And I'll be happy to give it a rest if you will.

 At first I was confused with what you said, then I realized the way I worded it and the way it sounded  Thanks for pointing that out. I've edited my comment to say what I meant. :D

Ok . Thanks , for listening . It still looks like you are saying that the Lord cannot be the liar in those passages because the lying spirit that He sent did the lying even though He knew that the spirit would succeed and was obeying His order . *shrug* Oh , well . Thanks , again . :)
