Dear VincentCross. I am sad for your great loss, and like to tell you what I would do now. Read Matthew 22, verses 35-40. Jesus tells a Lawyer: " The first and great Commandment is: " Love God with all thy heart, with all thy soul, and with all thy mind. The second is like it: " Love thy neighbour as thyself." Then Jesus states this fact: " On these two Commandments hang
all the Law and the Prophets." God wants our Love, freely given and no conditions tagged on. Start by treating all you know and all you meet, as you
would love to be treated: kindly and with friendly words, helping hands if needed, and generally be a good neighbour. God will see your sincere efforts,
and God will approve and bless you. Also, God will notice that you love God,
how? because you are following God`s Commandment to love and care.
Jesus will give you His Love and Joy, and the Holy Spirit will empower you with His Love, also. Jesus told us to " ask and ye will receive," then thank God, and share all Love and Joy with our neighbour. Keep asking and thanking, and sharing. You might stumble and forget, but then get up, ask God to forgive you, and keep thanking, and asking, and sharing. ( Matthew 7,
verse 7-8)
God is Love, and God wants loving children/sons and daughters, to Love God
with all our beings, and love our neighbour as ourselves. Do this Vincent, and
you will find that Jesus will draw near you, and help and guide you all the way: Jesus IS THE WAY.
We are on this Earth to learn to become as God wants us to be. Loving and caring in all we say or do, all we advocate and all we stand for.
May God bless you and keep leading you, Vincent. I say this with love.
Greetings from Emmy, your sister in Christ.

I was fortunate enough to be raised in a home where the idea of God was not forced upon us. We were not churchgoers, and in fact I don't think we even had a Bible in the house. We celebrated Christmas but it was more about decorating the tree and exchanging gifts than anything else; we set up a nativity scene, but I figured it was just another decoration. My mother and father raised us with kindness and love, but not with the Lord Jesus Christ as a part of the household. They spared the rod, and we were not spoiled; but they did teach us not to steal or bear false witness. Coveting thy neighbor's ass never really came up. My mother came from a Christian background, but never really practiced it; my father, I'm pretty sure, was and is a Deist. We never really talked about it, strangely. It was never that important.
