I think you would be better off asking your questions in the Theistic Evolution and Creationism subforums. The people in each of those two camps are of (more or less) like-mind, so you're less likely to get as much bickering there. And be sure to ask specific questions. "Are science and faith compatible?" is a good question, but it would require an entire book to answer in detail.

Try to stay with christian authors and scientist. You will have your faith challenged when you get the atheistic slant to the material. Especially from people who's whole narrative is to discredit the bible and dismiss God. i.e. "the God delusion"

I just watched a really good movie called "Expelled" with Ben Stein. In it they inteview Dawkins and he totally contradicts himself. Makes you realize what his soul purpose in life is. Plus the movie clears up a few things the OP might be confused about.

Just so you know, Richard Dawkins is a very biased man. I've read The God Delusion and it sounds sort of like complaining rather than giving a real reason why he thinks God doesn't exist. I've seen him on YouTube at a conference and he said he was there to promote "militant atheism." The guy obviously has an agenda.

Absolutely. And The God Delusion is the poorest of his books.

But he is a top-notch scientist. Don't let his agenda keep you from reading his other books (The Selfish Gene, Climbing Mount Improbable and The Ancestor's Tale are all great). Just ignore the anti-religion jibes he sometimes throws in.

Both Dawkins and Stein are peddling propaganda about things they hate. Dawkins hates religion, and Stein hates scientists.

Neither of them is to be trusted on those respective subjects.

Stein's excuses for the Nazis in the Holocaust are sufficiently awful as to bring him condemnation from the Anti-Defamation League:
