  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

If you want to write, then write. Even if what you write isn't that good, it's a learning process. Practice makes perfect, as the saying goes, and it applies to writing. The more you write, the better you'll get. You don't have to be afraid of it.

I hope that helps. :) God bless!

Mochagirl is correct. The only way to learn to write is by writing.

When I started I was worried that other people would hate the stuff I writing. I got over that. I started by contacting some of my old friends through old fashion letter writing. This allowed me to pratice my skill and forced me to put into descriptive words the events that were going on in my life. After a couple of months I found myself writing 5 to 8 page letters every week.

From there I started to re-write some of my favorite short stories. I took them in different directions, changed characters, changed plots and found that soon I was writing material that had nothing to do with the stories I started with.

Another thing to try is carrying a note pad with you when your out. I've just started doing this. If I see an interesting person, couple, place or thing I jote down a few notes and move on. At the end of the week I go through my notes and look at what locations, people, and events I can combine into a story. Not only does it give you material to work with, It also trains you in being able to make very descriptive passages with only a few lines.

Finally, be willing to experement. No two writers write in the the same style. take the time to look at what you want to write about and how you want to write about it. Once you've decided on that try turning it around and coming at it from a different direction. turn it inside out, upside down, reverse it. And never try to to be exactly like your favorite writers. Create your own style. you'll be much happier.

It also helps to read. When I find I'm in a writing "dry spell," it almost always means I'm also in a reading dry spell. There's a connection between the two. I used to think I would have to read less in order to make more time for writing, but it has worked the other way for me. The more I am reading, the more I tend to write.

It depends. :)

What do you want to do? Why do you want to write? Are you hoping to turn this into a vocation/profession or looking for personal growth?

Most importantly, who is your audience? Who do you want to write for? If for self or God, it doesn't matter. If for a specific group of people, the audience will dictate the language. :)

Generally speaking, I'd suggest doing both. Write in the language that is comfortable, but practice writing in both. What a wonderful gift that would be to be skilled in each!

English language is not my mother tongue but i think i am good in english , so it is better to write in my mother tongue language or in english language ?

one, the other...both...it's not a huge deal. What's inportant is what you get out of it. To be honest, writing really is a very selfish thing. Whichever is more fun for you, that is the language I would suggest writing in.

of course, writing in English would be a good way to test how good youe English skills are ^_^
