well it doesn't bcuz one of my friends has a boyfriend with both sides of his lip pierced and she doesn't complain.

And he's going to be the dumbest looking grandaddy on the face of the earth.

After school today, my daughter asked me if I would go with her to have her belly pierced....

At least those can be covered up. Lip rings are just plain dumb.

Though IMO 16 is a bit young for such a visible piercing. You may want to try to compromise for a smaller and less risky one, such as an ear piercing or an eyeborw one.
