I want to be more Spiritual?

What does that mean?

It sounds like someone saying I want to be more in Love with my spouse. But what does that actually mean.

I can understand;

I want to be more connected to God
I want to be more aware of God in my life
I want to be a better listener to what God is showing me
I want to be more devoted to God's word.
I want to communicate more with God.
I want to be more obedient to His commandments.
I want to check in with God more often during the day.
I want to praise Him.
I want to share the gift of Christ with other.
I want to be more trusting of God's direction in my Life.


I have been crucified with Christ and I no longer live, but Christ lives in me

I have to stand back and watch what Christ does in my life and enjoy every moment regardless of what my life looks like. You can't get any more spiritual then accepting Jesus Christ.

Here is a prayer of Paul that helped me a great deal:

Ephesians 1:16-23 KJV
16 Cease not to give thanks for you, making mention of you in my prayers;
17 That the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, may give unto you (me) the spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of him:
18 The eyes of your (my) understanding being enlightened; that ye (I) may know what is the hope of his calling, and what the riches of the glory of his inheritance in the saints,
19 And what is the exceeding greatness of his power to us-ward who believe, according to the working of his mighty power,
20 Which he wrought in Christ, when he raised him from the dead, and set him at his own right hand in the heavenly places,

It is possible to have everyone of those things in our life, but they dont come by wishing for them.
It's when you "do these to the least of these, my brethern, when you become aware that your more connected to God.

When you can love the unlovely, forgive those that hate you, when you can care about a mans soul more than your self. When you give yourself away for Christ, and His calling.

We all say that we love God. But the next commandment is to love thy neighbor. Well we become rather selective when it comes to loving our neighbor. LOL. Don't worry, as we grow up in the Lord, and he knows we want those things, he will do the changing if we're willing. I"m not there myself by a long shot, but I keep pressing in.

Give up! Try and fail! Just go to the throne room and say "How can I ministrer to you this day my Lord." Send the aroma unto Him. And you will come to understand that all you seek you already have and more.

What does it actually mean...... Well Anthony, you have answered your own question with that which you understand. As we truly and sincerely want more of God less of us will be around to get in the way. We will love more, we will give more, we will put others first more, we will cherish our time with the Lord more, we will desire His Word more, we will simply want more of God and His attributes. True spirituallity only comes as we deny ourselves otherwise we just have a form of religion, a form of spirituallity.

As we truly and sincerely want more of God less of us will be around to get in the way. We will love more, we will give more, we will put others first more, we will cherish our time with the Lord more, we will desire His Word more, we will simply want more of God and His attributes. True spirituallity only comes as we deny ourselves otherwise we just have a form of religion, a form of spirituallity.

more spiritual is a fruit that is produced.

Fruit comes from focusing on God, and not worrying how spiritual one is or isn;t.

I will also added you can not be any more spiritual then you are. "For you are in heavenly places in Christ Jesus". When one know this to be fact one will attain it. And when one attains it another will fall, and another will fall, and so on. (revelations) For it is written we are born of a heavenly (spiritual) being that is Christ Jesus. It becomes a state of knowing, not hoping or trying to get. But a state of I AM.

So do I! I think we all want to get closer to God in one way or another there is always room for improvement.
