I made my living in Professional Musical Theater. I loved the attention and the fame. I was my own god. God gave me the gift of singing-a gift that I never thanked Him for the first 44 years of my life. He finally got my attention when I started having health issues and couldn't hold down a steady job.
The new life (in Christ) isn't exciting by the world's standards. I don't have the fame and riches that I used to. People don't approach me for my autograph anymore and I don't get to take 8 curtain calls in a row like I used to.
However, I have joy and peace because I am not the one who has to prove MYSELF anymore. I just have to believe in His generous gift of grace through faith.
Now I sing in church for Jesus. He is the star of the show. I love seeing HIM shine.
He has also taught me that the voice I use to praise Him in song can also be used to encourage others and pray fervently.
