I thought God had spoken to me and prophesied something that was to occur at a certain time today.

That time has now passed and nothing happened. I don’t blame god at all but don’t know where to go from here.

Without knowing how this "revelation" occurred, my first reaction is that obviously whatever you heard or thought you heard or dreamed about was not a message from God. Continue your life like it never happened. If similar things continue to happen and it compels you to negative actions, you might want to seek help.

In the future, remember to test the spirits.

"Beloved, do not believe every spirit, but test the spirits to see whether they are from God, for many false prophets have gone out into the world. I'd recommend the Bible. It lays out the entire story of the relationship of God to Man.

Counting on a personal impression that you assumed was of God is not the way God intends for you to be connected to him, but in his word--Scripture--you have it...and it's the same for all men of all nations and times.
