I think my husband and I are called to the ministry?

Okay, here is the deal. I thought when I was 13 years old that I was called to the youth ministry (I even went to Bible College (Central Bible College) for a year) to find out that I was NOT called to the ministry. This broke my heart, because for some reason, I have a strong passion for preaching. I love studying the Word of God and I love to teach about it and pass on nuggets.

Well, then, I meet my beloved husband (Supernova) and it was like God spoke out of nowhere and said that Supernova was called into the ministry. He told me in that small voice that I had better be prepared to go with him eventually in ministry. (Youth ministry specifically). So, I started thinking that maybe what I heard when I was 13 was that I was to be in the ministry as a minister's wife. Hmm, that's not so bad! :) (I mean, maybe my husband will let me teach from time to time to soothe that need I have).

The only thing is that I am ready to answer HIS call, but I don't think he is. I mean, God is working on him (I can see that), but he is so unsure. He doesn't know if it is God or indigestion or what. *lol*

Can someone give me some help in this area? I mean, what should I do here?

First off let me say that its my experience that whatever intrests you have such as teaching/preaching or anything that is producing fruit such as love or desires to produce fruit in others lives is instilled there by God(we can do nothing without him (John 15:5)...Most people who are good at something have realized that they are good at it because its thier niche/calling. God alone knew you before the foundations of the world and had a plan for you. He made you according to that plan to fullfill his desires.(phillipians 2:13)...Who told you that you were NOT called to minister? What right did they have to tell you this?. Since its biblical to state that everyone is called to minister(not nessecarily the five fold ministry), and it is God alone who CALLS, I would be very reluctant to let what someone else said to me interfere with that call..Sometimes though we do get ahead of Gods timing for our ministry that He's called us too. This takes much prayer and waiting upon the Lord to confirm. Bottom line though is that He said ;Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature.(Mark 16:15)

You dont need mans aproval for a God given call. Although Im not against theological training at colleges etc, that is not a prerequesite for ministry. What schools did the disciples attend? Again let me reiterate, college might be what God leads some to do, but that diploma is not what qualifies one to preach the gospel.(except for denominational standards required. which usually indoctrinate's those attending with that denoms personal ideas, that might even be somewhat contrary to the bible)....What does qualify one, is "time spent with Jesus"!! Thats the school the disciples went to, and if it was good enough for them its good enough for me...(but thats me)..

I will pray God guides you in your adventure in serving him exactly as HE desires.:amen:

God Himself. That is not where He wants me.

Possibly at that time...Could be like I said sister that he was giving you an innner vision of sorts, and preparing you for the future. In any case;
Luke 11:9-10 And I say unto you, Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you.
10For every one that asketh receiveth; and he that seeketh findeth; and to him that knocketh it shall be opened.

Be blessed sister!!

[BIBLE] I feel that your calling is inside you, no matter what happens on your path, or what anyone says about your path. My life has been a hurricane, and I've been told I'll never be a pastor due to my spotted past. Personally I believe my past has opened my eyes to a level of life most pastors could never understand, and that makes me very unique. I can help those that most can't get near. Whether your place is preaching or being a pastors wife, ask the lord and he'll show you the way. [/BIBLE]

God called me to the mission field and since your showing those desires your most likely called to instruct others. If God called you both to the mission field would you sell everything 2 go
1.You have to ask your selfs that question

2. Ask the hard question, I'm going into teach the underground church in china and If caught I could die.
Are you willing to die for Christ.

I cryed when I faced this question because it's such a hard thing to think about but you have to because it's real you may die these days even for a tract being given.

I answered yes and God gave me peace beyond any thing I ever felt before, There are so many in China who need us and most don't even make 3 dollars a day there and thats good money to them.

I relized by selling everything I owned and going, I'd really be rich enough to focus 100% on teaching and helping those in need. This may have looked like I was giving up my whole life but going from poor in the USA to a rich missionary brought another layer of peace into my heart.

That is were we find in the Bible " If you lose you life for his sake you will find it, but if you save your life you will use it. You could teach and reach 1000's more there and make a huge difference

If you give up your desires for this life and take the works of Christ as your goals you will be rewarded with a grand and richer life then you will living and reaching for your own lust. Go to the field for the harvest is white.

You know Christ is coming soon let him find you busy doing, not just making a bigger crowd that don't reach the lost in the streets.

If your seeking a answer from God then you must now turn off the thing of this life and seek him with a true heart. He looks at your heart and he will know if your truley seeking him, don't do it half way.

May I tell how my answer came this is not for everbody ok, but it's the ways he lead me.

For almost 4yrs now I have did my best to cut off the bad things in this world only because the Bible tells there are thing we can see and hear that vex our souls and that put's dark layers of Glass between us and seeing a clearer picture of God, and it dulls our spirit's spiritual ears from hearing the voice of God.

Remember lot vexed his soul viewing the ungodly deeds of sodom and it is true today, cut the TV off except for christian things or a 30minute news show. You must fill the other time with studies and seeking God. 24-7 christian music, it help's you to always focus on God.

Remember commandment 1-2 see use the Ten commandments as a goal or a point of reference always striving to reach them. Love God with all your heart, mind, soul, strength. No I'm not kidding you my bro and sister you must cut off the things of this world and seek him this is your life and death your talking about.

Your going to need him like never before and you will need to keep in your mind I may have to die for my Lord doing this. That keeps me close to father.

These are a few of the things that have filled me. I now don't even miss the things I used to watch or view or do because I have created a new way of focus. you would not have the thing you injoy now on a mission field so go ahead and prepare now, by turning that focus from the world to the work of God you need to learn that language were ever it is you may go, but pray and ask god to give you the gife of this tounge to reach those.

I hope this help move you into a direction my sister, but the cutting off of thing and filling the time seeking God or I should say in studies and prayer, learning that language these things will fill your time for your transition to be smoother.

If you want to ask more question, anything I'll find your answer the best I can.
May God lead and guide you thru this choice.
Peace to all in Christ
