I'm struggling with complete numbness toward all the faith sometimes...though I never turn Protestant either. I think I "hang out" with people who are anti-Catholicism too much (or anti-Christian for that matter) and...sometimes I wonder if my faith is weak partly because of this, but at the same time it feels like pride to ditch people simply because they're not Christian. I don't know what to say...this isn't coming out right

I have to wonder if its not the RCC that's my problem. I don't think I regret anymore I think the feeling I have is different than regret.

What do you mean you wonder if the RCC is your problem? Do you now disagree with the RCC now after saying you did agree before joining the Church? Or just think it's too much work?

Because the discipline is what got to me. It's bootcamp compared to protestant faiths.

No I don't disagree with the RCC At all. I love the Church and agree with the teachings even when they are tough...
My problem isn't that its...
hard to describe. that's why I keep it in the little blog they give you on here. Its me not the RCC that I have a problem with.

I don't know that its regret I think its....I have a lot of questions about God and His Church that they make sense but anyway I sometimes wish God were more clear in his direction lol. I need to love him better too.

You went through an RCIA class, you participate on here, that makes you probably more educated in the faith than 90% of Catholics.

Anyway, the Faith is not about education unless you are defending it against Protestant and Atheist attackers. You don't have to be a theologian and being one won't get you to Heaven. You could be a wonderful scholar and you'd be a wonderful scholar in Hell.

What the Church needs is education, yes, but that happens in time. What the Church needs -- what you need -- is devotion. Pray your Rosary, make a Holy Hour at least once a week, go to Daily Mass, read devotionals, work on building your own holy family -- these things are desperately needed in the Church and are the only things that will get you truly closer to Jesus.

Nearing the end of his life (though he died by accident), St. Thomas Aquinas stopped work on his seminal tome, the Summa Theologica (the last section was done by a friend). After he finished saying Mass one day, someone urged him to finish and he said, "I cannot go on.... All that I have written seems to me like so much straw compared to what I have seen and what has been revealed to me."

So just pray. That's what life is about anyway.

I think free will is a bit problematic sometimes. I wish I just always loved God the way He deserved to be loved.

Only one Person ever has.

That is why we say, "Pray for us Most Holy Mother of God -- that we may be made worthy of the promises of Christ" None of us love God as He should be loved. Only Jesus Christ -- God Himself -- has rendered to God the worship and love that He truly deserved. His Holy Mother, of course, as a distant second (because even she was only human and couldn't give up her life as a Sacrifice) and the rest of us are waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay down the line.

Well, you are in the married life now & God has called you into the Church. So He got you there one way or the other.

There is no use crying over spilled milk. There are many things you can do within the Church without being a nun. You could join the secular Franciscans, etc. So many possibilities. I just saw a lady on EWTN that was married had kids & after her husband died she joined an order of sorts for widowed women. Really, the options are endless. And God can make anything work to His glory as long as we seek Him.
