• CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

I was healed from alcoholism and saved 9 years ago, however, i failed miserabley at Christianity! I didnt apply the Bible to my life, I got involved in pain pills and cant seem to change very much and be Christ-like. I got involved in a fire and brimestone cult and they painted God as a arrogant tyrant! I had a horrid childhood which led me to depression and substance abuse. I feel like God threw me a lifeline and I blew it. My life is a mess and Im suicidal alot! I have mental illness, pain pill abuse, great losses, and satan has beaten me to shreds. God too, has punished me. This was made very clear so dont give me the old "chastised out of love stuff" K? I was punished like the chick turned into apillar of salt. God punishes BAD BAD BAD! Hard harsh!

I need prayer. I hope Christ will help me becuz I know he is real but im all confused! I feel i may have lost my very soul!

All I wanted was happiness. I thought God would bring that. Im a natural pessimist. I also have a rebellious spirit. Plz pray that God brings me strong christians to help me, for I am sinking.

Thank you

i dont have the internet at home so i will come back when i can.

If you are going to be part of the KINGDOM of ALMIGHTY GOD you MUST GIVE IT ALL TO GOD.

GOD demands that you give HIM your WHOLE heart, mind, strength, and soul. That means you go in prayer and tell GOD that you will do this and from that moment on seek GOD in all your decisions. After this is complete GOD will know. For HE searches the heart. HE will then send HIS HOLY SPIRIT ( ANOINTED-BORN AGAIN- SAVED ). For it is then that you shall receive the MISSION GOD has for just you and supply all your needs, even what you have not the ability to have.

Pick up GOD'S ROAD MAP to the KINGDOM of ALMIGHTY GOD ( BIBLE ) and start reading the NEW TESTIMENT till the next time you read it you will already know what IT'S going to say. For then it's locked in your heart to draw from for the rest of your life. You will NEVER be sorry you did.

Do yourself a BIG FAVOR and Start right now!!!

I need prayer. I hope Christ will help me becuz I know he is real but im all confused! I feel i may have lost my very soul!

You can't loose your soul. God loves you and all he wants is for you to love him, too. Welcome Jesus into your hearth and sincerely ask for forgiveness and you'll be born again in Jesus Christ.

All I wanted was happiness. I thought God would bring that. Im a natural pessimist. I also have a rebellious spirit. Plz pray that God brings me strong christians to help me, for I am sinking.

Just being a Christian doesn't mean you'll have a happy life and never have pain, misery or bad experiences. That's pretty obvious if we look at how many Christians get divorce, die because of cancer etc. That doesn't mean that there is no God. God does not control every aspect of life, because he wants you to have a free will and come to him voluntarily. If he forces himself onto people (say by proving he's there by providing a all happy life for his followers) the decision to choose God isn't that voluntary anymore. Sometimes you just need to experience specific things in life and it's really a good thing your faith hasn't yet left you completely.
I'll pray for you so that you'll get your life in control again.

Let me give you some cliff notes on a few key characters in the Bible

David was a sheperd boy annointed by God to be king of Israel. By faith in God he killed Goliath, a HUGE philistine, with a sling... around the age of 12 years old. As king, he was a man after God's own Heart, going above and beyond the norm to make God happy. However, he wasn't above sin. He trusted in his military might more than God's power at times. He had an extramarital affair with Bathsheba, a married woman, and got her pregnant. He tried to cover it up by pulling her husband Uriah off the battlefield to "take a break." Uriah, one of David's captains, wouldn't lay with his wife with his men still in harm's way. So, David sent him back to the fight with orders to Uriah's commander to leave Uriah on the field alone... Uriah was killed at the hands of the enemy, under David's order. All because David couldn't keep his hoo-hoo in his britches(He also had over 1000 concubines - women for sexual relievement - also frowned upon by God). David also was a bad father. His sons fought and killed each other, and one even led a powerful rebellion against David. Dosen't sound like his house was in order, eh?

However, when he was called out for his sin, David was stricken with sorrow. Not the I-got-caught sorrow, but that oh-my-God-what-have-I-done kind of sorrow. He repented, and God took him back each and every time he fell prey to sin.

Earlier in Israel's history, Samson was a self-centered, arrogant, STRONG man who did things his own way for most of his life as an adult. For openers, he married a philistine girl... philistines were a major enemy of Israel. Even his dad tried to get him to reconsider, but he demanded to marry this girl. He spent the night with a prostitute, something we ain't s'posta do. He bragged about his superhuman strength that God gave him, and used it for his own personal gain and entertainment, rather than to the glory of God. His final slap in God's face was when he told Delilah, another philistine prostitute, that his strength was in his long hair(Actually this was a part of his Nazirite vow... no razor was to ever be used on his head, he wasn't to touch anything coming from a vineyard - wine, grapes, anything - and he was to never touch anything dead... all of these requirements he broke). Once Delilah cut his hair, she called for the philistines to get Samson, and this time he had no strength to resist, not just because he had no hair, but because he broke his promise to God.

Now, while a prisoner of the philistines, Samson had plenty of time to realize what he should have done with God's gift, but through all this open rebellion, God never turned away from him. BUT!!! God stuck around because He saw Samson's heart, that he was finally sorry for the wrong he had done, and that he had repented from it all. His final act was a crushing blow to the philistines that cost Samson his life. But had he never repented from his sin, God would have surely turned His back on Samson.

We can't lose our salvation, but we can throw it away. In Hebrews we read that:

If we deliberately keep on sinning after we have received the knowledge of the truth, no sacrifice for sins is left, 27but only a fearful expectation of judgment and of raging fire that will consume the enemies of God. 28Anyone who rejected the law of Moses died without mercy on the testimony of two or three witnesses. 29How much more severely do you think a man deserves to be punished who has trampled the Son of God under foot, who has treated as an unholy thing the blood of the covenant that sanctified him, and who has insulted the Spirit of grace? 30For we know him who said, "It is mine to avenge; I will repay," and again, "The Lord will judge his people." 31It is a dreadful thing to fall into the hands of the living God.

Also, in I Samuel 15:23 we read that rebellion is like witchcraft to God. So, I don't want to sound bossy, but you need to get that rebellious streak under control, and it's gonna take a close walk with God to do so. He can do for you what you can't... but He'll amaze you with what you CAN do. I know you know how God can tan our hides. But He loves you too much to just throw you away. If He did that, He'd be telling Jesus, His perfect Son, that the torture He went through for you wasn't enough to cover your sin.

So yes, you are still our sister in Christ, and as such, we all love you and want to help you. Stay in God's Word. I suggest the book of John, chapter 17. This is Jesus praying to God for YOU. He loves you like crazy, tracieann. You put those pills down the toilet, seek after Jesus, and He'll replace the addiction, the illness, everything satan has put on you, with Joy! Peace! A sound mind and a high the likes of which you can't find in a bottle, joint, needle pipe, anywhere. Hang in there!

Dear traci ,

You haven't lost your opportunity to be saved , because you're still alive - don't let Satan fool you into thinking your life is hopeless , because your life itself is the proof that there is still hope for you !

For to him that is joined to all the living there is hope: for a living dog is better than a dead lion. <-----> Ecclesiastes 9:4

Hold on , keep praying + seeking , and help will come !

May The Lord's Love Shine upon you !

The moment we accept Jesus in our life, we already received salvation from God. It's impossible to lose salvation.

One thing I can advise is TO REPENT. When you draw closer to God, God will draw closer to you. Confess your sins to God and He will forgive you. After Jesus died for us on the cross, all our sins are forgiven and God no longer punishes us because Jesus already fulfilled everything required needed to appeal to God for forgiveness. So that's why through Jesus we are cleansed and made new again in Christ. God never looks back at your previous sins you've committed in the past.

1 John 1: If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness.

You can look into the prodigal's son story in the bible. It's in Luke 15:11 - 32.

And also Jesus is The Way, The Truth and The Life. No one comes to the father except through Jesus. It's in John 14: 6.

So don't worry if your sins are grievous. Just come back to God and He will forgive you from all your sins. God is love. His loves endures forever and everlasting.

Jer 3:22 Return, ye backsliding children, [and] I will heal your backslidings. Behold, we come unto thee; for thou [art] the LORD our God.

Hosea 6:1 Come, and let us return unto the LORD: for he hath torn, and he will heal us; he hath smitten, and he will bind us up.

David turned from the lord and committed grevious sin.. He was forgiven

Solomon who had great wisdom and favour from God, turned from God and was forgiven.

Peter denied Jesus three times and was Forgiven.

Adam and Eve in sinless perfection turned from God and were forgiven.

God says to you... Isaiah 55:7 Let the wicked forsake his way, and the unrighteous man his thoughts: and let him return unto the LORD, and he will have mercy upon him; and to our God, for he will abundantly pardon. 8 For my thoughts [are] not your thoughts, neither [are] your ways my ways, saith the LORD. 9 For [as] the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways, and my thoughts than your thoughts.

2 chron 7:13 If I shut up heaven that there be no rain, or if I command the locusts to devour the land, or if I send pestilence among my people; 14 If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land.

You may well have lost your salvation BUT... Return to the Lord and He will forgive. Not only will He forgive you but He will do great things in your life, He will come to you with His best robe and place that on your shoulders, He will give you a place of honour. What must you do... Your life is a mess! Come to God, He knows you can't fix it, it must be done for you. All you can do is be willing to be made willing. Turn from your wicked ways, come to God without excuse for your sins, acknowledge the dark place you have fallen to ask for help and let God save you.

Keep the faith. If you pray for help and believe without doubting, the Lord will help you. (I speak from life experience).
Repent for your sins, be honest...completely. I have and still suffer from depression, mental problems, you have to rely on the Lord to help you, you won't be able to handle these things alone...with great difficulty and misery if you persist alone.

The Lord knows your problems before you ask him.

Matthew 6:31

" 31 “Therefore do not worry, saying, ‘What shall we eat?’ or ‘What shall we drink?’ or ‘What shall we wear?’ 32 For after all these things the Gentiles seek. For your heavenly Father knows that you need all these things. 33 But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you. 34 Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about its own things. Sufficient for the day is its own trouble. "

Trust and take each day at a time, you will begin to see changes. The evil one is trying to throw you off and cast doubts in your head, try to ignore these things.

Not sure if the following will help but I think it makes a good point, he who has more sins, the more will be forgiven and the more love he will show rather than he who has less to be forgiven for.

Luke 18:9

9 Also He spoke this parable to some who trusted in themselves that they were righteous, and despised others: 10 “Two men went up to the temple to pray, one a Pharisee and the other a tax collector. 11 The Pharisee stood and prayed thus with himself, ‘God, I thank You that I am not like other men—extortioners, unjust, adulterers, or even as this tax collector. 12 I fast twice a week; I give tithes of all that I possess.’ 13 And the tax collector, standing afar off, would not so much as raise his eyes to heaven, but beat his breast, saying, ‘God, be merciful to me a sinner!’ 14 I tell you, this man went down to his house justified rather than the other; for everyone who exalts himself will be humbled, and he who humbles himself will be exalted.”

Hope any of this is of help to you, you can private message if you need to talk. Coming here was a good step for you to make rather than giving up.

REMEMBER -
THE LORD IS MERCIFUL!

Don't let the devil deceive you. You cannot lose your salvation. The first thing that the devil whispers in your ear, though, is that God doesn't love you. That's where you first started off the path, so I'd focus on His love first and straightaway.

Thank you very much all, im having such difficulties. I fell off the path and the devil has beaten me down. Im quite interested in talking with other mentally ill folks, but i dont have a comp atm. Im moving and when I settle I hope God gives me a comp, a good church, fellowship and support. Im done with drugs. Im simply done fooling aropund. I repented and asked for a fresh start. I surrendered and I hope God understands the complexities of mental illness, substance abuse. Ive had depression for 25 years and drugs dont help. I just want to have some peace and comfort. I hope things work out.

I am bipolar #1 and really know what mental illness is. But I take very good meds that take care of this and I can't even tell I'm taking them: I have had no trouble with this for years.

This is GOD'S MESSAGE to you:

" Sirach (Apocrypha), chapter 38:

1: Honour a physician with the honour due unto him for the uses which ye may have of him: for the Lord hath created him.

2: For of the most High cometh healing, and he shall receive honour of the king.

3: The skill of the physician shall lift up his head: and in the sight of great men he shall be in admiration.

4: The Lord hath created medicines out of the earth; and he that is wise will not abhor them.

5: Was not the water made sweet with wood, that the virtue thereof might be known?

6: And he hath given men skill, that he might be honoured in his marvellous works.

7: With such doth he heal [men,] and taketh away their pains.

8: Of such doth the apothecary make a confection; and of his works there is no end; and from him is peace over all the earth,

9: My son, in thy sickness be not negligent: but pray unto the Lord, and he will make thee whole.

10: Leave off from sin, and order thine hands aright, and cleanse thy heart from all wickedness.

11: Give a sweet savour, and a memorial of fine flour; and make a fat offering, as not being.

12: Then give place to the physician, for the Lord hath created him: let him not go from thee, for thou hast need of him.

13: There is a time when in their hands there is good success.

14: For they shall also pray unto the Lord, that he would prosper that, which they give for ease and remedy to prolong life.

15: He that sinneth before his Maker, let him fall into the hand of the physician. "

You may have to be patient with the doctors while they find the drugs that will work for just you but it's very worth the weight.

LOVE

Sounds like how it used to be with me. I met Jesus, but then I got seriously mentally ill and almost killed myself, so I gave up on Him and went back to my old life with drugs and alcohol. I really honestly tried my best, but still I failed and my life felt better when I just gave up on Jesus. And now I've been getting back to the faith again during the last year. But I can't say I'm happy yet. I put my trust in Jesus and hope that I can get to see the abundant life the bible is talking about, but most of the time all I see is trouble. I often think that maybe there is no hope for me anymore, cause everyone else seem to be much better Christians. And sometimes I think God is punishing me, cause I can't see any logic in why life feels so bad. I've given it all to Him, but I see no improvements. The only times I feel ok about life is when I'm using strong tranquilizers.

Lucis and Tracieann, I offer this. Anyone who thinks Jesus will make their life all better has been deceieved. Jesus Himself said, "In the world you will have trouble." So much for standing on the promises of God, eh?

I don't say that to scare you. I say it bluntly to drive the point home. There are no great Christians and no small Christians in the body of Christ... only CHRISTIANS. Remember that satan is the prince of this world, parading as an angel of light.. he's pretty, he's nice, he's quick to say what you want to hear, and he'll lovingly and kindly re-route you to HELL!!! How could he deceive anyone if he showed his true self? I'll point out John the Baptist. Jesus said there is no human on earth greater than John. John lived in the desert. John was homeless. John ate bugs for food. John had nothing more than a pair of briefs made from camel hair for clothing. John's real treasure was in Heaven.

See, God isn't concerned with the car you drive, or how much is in your wallet. His main concern is that you bear fruit. You two, in the current situation you both are in, you two can bear fruit! As members of the family of God, you are ROYALTY! You are precious in His eyes. Don't let the trials of this life weigh you down. Rather, seek the peace of God which transcends all understanding... that kind of peace that keeps you calm when the gun is aimed at you. The kind that Paul and Silas knew when they sang praise to God in the torture chambers of the inner prison after unaccounted beating. "Ask, and ye shall receive, Seek, and ye shall find, Knock, and the door shall be opened."

woah, i can relate. I had a glorious conversion and life got worse! LOL...wt heck?

I have serious mental illness as well and i feel punished if not abandonded by God. Before i read the Bible, i thought he was all loveydoveyfuzzy love. Dont cross God, hes got a temper!

Ive come to the conclusion that the Bible is not healthy for the menatlly ill. Heck I cant even handle Michael jacksons death let alone revelation! The only scripture i can read is the soft and fuzzy stuff.

i dont have my own comp right now but id like to talk with you, we have alot in common.

thx all for your advice (all posters) and etc. I havent the time to answer all. I still feel my salvation may be lost. But then it says "if we confess...etc." Which is contrdictory to other scripture. Christanity is really turned into a nightmare for me actually.

I think satans laughing his evil butt off!

I know Gods real, but I dont know how nice he is. I dont know his character. and if he loves me sooooooooooooooooooooooo much, why such intense intense suffering? Id never even let a hamster go thru this.

perplexed.
