I guess the doc took a wrong turn at I-95 and 2014 because the flux capacitor ran out of plutonium and now the delorean is in a scrapyard on the edge of town.

Well I first noticed it yesterday. I was driving down the road with my husband, talking about interior design or groceries or something and it was so fascinating, I did that ADD thing and interrupted myself midsentence.
So it was like "And when we DO buy a house, I like nautical- IS THAT A DELOREAN IN THERE!?"

So today, I took the "backroads" way to work and snapped a pic of it.
It's sitting in a yard where all cars go to die across the street from a massive metal recycling scapyard. And its only the second one I've seen in person in my ENTIRE LIFE (short as that may be) so now I have the urge to open the fence, put it in neutral and drag it out of there with my SUV.

Well I might call that place and ask them why it's in there and if they are selling it, then alert the Florida chapter for Delorean fanatics...

Well, in good condition they run about $30k or so nowadays. Wonder what's so wrong with it that it's in a scrapyard.

You should call the yard, BGS.....maybe you can make some $$ AND save the car.

I'm trying to figure that out. I'm too broke to buy it.
Turns out it's not the metal place that has it, its the other place and they don't like to answer the phone.
I did submit a picture of it to the people who are collectors here in FL and gave them the phone number

I mean, I can understand something like a Lamborghini collector, a Ferrari collector, etc...but....Delorean?

I just read there's a service center for Deloreans in S. Florida....so it's in the right place. I also read that the frame often rotted on those.....so maybe that's the reason it's there. I just hate to see rare things like that demolished....even if they aren't a value-added financial decision.

I live in FL, but I'm not a native, so I like to rag on it...which always makes my wife's eyes roll.

There was this FB test of "How FL are you?" - which I got something like 20% on. I was happy with that and thanked God it wasn't 100% - because that would be like getting diagnosed with full blown AIDS. lol

No it's not at the service center. That's like 4 hours SW of here in like Bonita Springs or Sarasota or soemthing. This car is in a metal recycling place on the outskirts of St. Augustine. It looks fine, but maybe its dead. Maybe it doesn't have a engine or its missing alot of parts or its been in a flood or something.

Oh.....I didn't mean it's at the service center---just that it's in the "right" state (meaning it's close to a service center). That would save $$ in transport fees.

The delorean was notoriously a bad performing car because it was so heavy. You'd think it'd be powerful, but it wasn't.

Now a good ol' muscle car - and the bad boy boyfriend to go with it - and a classic Vette for Sundays, I could go for that for reliving my teen years. Oh, who am I kidding. I always wanted a Fiat.

But I'm a weirdo and I want the dated "time machine" that looks like 1981's concept of what 2015 was supposed to be like (note in the 2nd movie the car flies and it's supposed to be 30 years in the future from present day 1985 so Uh 2015)

I drove back through on the way home and really looked at the signs this time. I always get these places mixed up.
The car isn't in the metal recycler's lot or the other scrap car lot across from it.
It's actually in with a bunch of very old scrappy utility vehicles in the Fitzgerald Excavations lot.
UHHH!? that place says it tears down old buildings. WHY DO THEY HAVE THE CAR!?
I will try calling again tomorrow to ask if its for sale.
What am I suppose to do if it is!?
I don't have any money.
I'm so broke, when I send a birthday card, it doesn't have cash in it. It has a note that says they owe ME money.
