  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

I sit amazed...

... that even mixing my green tea bag with a bag of dark berry tea still made my tea look like a cup of snow-yellower. :sigh: I don't want to drink this in front of people.

If you were blind your whole life up to a point, and only knew the shapes of cubes by touch, would you recognize a cube visually if you gained the ability to see and a cube were presented to you? (This is, I believe, known as Molyneaux's Problem.)

Actually, I've read up on this sort of thing.... apparently it's almost 100% if you take someone who was born totally blind, and restore sight to them, they are not initially capable of identifying cubes, circles or other basic shapes.

In fact, in many cases depth perception doesn't exist, and they have trouble identifying faces.

It makes sense as their brains never learned to do this while young. In many cases things improve, but it's kind of interesting to see how even things like senses to some extent are a learned skill.

I doubt I would recognize the cube with any degree of certainty so I'll say no.
