I got in an argument with my older brother who isn't a christian. He got in my face and challenged me and I wanted to sock him in the face (my pride) but I didn't so I called him a bunch of names and said things I shouldn't have... He always pushes my buttons on the daily and calls me self-righteous and a hypocrite and makes fun of Jesus. He purposely tries to get me to sin and tempts me to it and tells me, "you will fall." Its really hard to live with somebody like this who blasphemes God when im just trying to follow the Lord the best I can. And I have a little sister who teases me on my faith as well.... But basically I got fed up and instead of turning the other cheek like I usually do I said many mean things back to him and I feel like I let God down. Because I chose to sin and I feel to unworthy to even ask God for forgiveness and go to repentance. I wish I would never sin again. I don't know what to do.....

Your struggle is understandable and God knows that. You shouldn't feel upset for being weak and lashing out, we all are :)
The best advice I can offer is what I did when I was bullied...Let them mock you, let them insult you. Just because they say what they say and say what they do doesn't mean it's true. I myself lose my temper often but I have learned to control it and I slowly slowly get control.

Meanwhile, what religion do your siblings follow?

Hope this helped.
God bless,

Peace to you

I like what you said " I wish I would never sin again"
In your mind set, you will have victory.
I won't say you will be ok, God knows. Because I cannot. I don't like people patting me on the head after I sin against My saviour Jesus Christ.
He came to save his people from their sins. So take that and run with it.
You will be a overcomer in Jesus Christ. hate sin and love Jesus who is our saviour from our Sins. He does not lie. He can free.
Amen.

Peace to you and God bless you very much

God bless,

My pride gets the best of me. I should not even let their words get to me. And we all went to a private Christian school. but they choose to ignore or mock me when I preach about Jesus... I guess they have no religion. I used to be lukewarm but I have been trying to live soley for Christ for the last 2 months

READ VERSE EPHESIANS 4:17-32:
Living as Children of Light

(Ephesians 4:17-32) So I tell you this, and insist on it in the Lord, that you must no longer live as the Gentiles do, in the futility of their thinking. They are darkened in their understanding and separated from the life of God because of the ignorance that is in them due to the hardening of their hearts. Having lost all sensitivity, they have given themselves over to sensuality so as to indulge in every kind of impurity, with a continual lust for more.

You, however, did not come to know Christ that way. Surely you heard of him and were taught in him in accordance with the truth that is in Jesus. You were taught, with regard to your former way of life, to put off your old self, which is being corrupted by its deceitful desires; to be made new in the attitude of your minds; and to put on the new self, created to be like God in true righteousness and holiness.

Therefore each of you must put off falsehood and speak truthfully to his neighbor, for we are all members of one body. “In your anger do not sin”:
Do not let the sun go down while you are still angry, and do not give the devil a foothold. He who has been stealing must steal no longer, but must work, doing something useful with his own hands, that he may have something to share with those in need.

Do not let any unwholesome talk come out of your mouths, but only what is helpful for building others up according to their needs, that it may benefit those who listen. And do not grieve the Holy Spirit of God, with whom you were sealed for the day of redemption. Get rid of all bitterness, rage and anger, brawling and slander, along with every form of malice. Be kind and compassionate to one another, forgiving each other, just as in Christ God forgave you.

What you need to do is tell your brother sorry for calling him whatever name you called him and to give him a big HUG. If your brother would not accept your apology, just accept it and move on. Than God will forgive you.

(Matthew 6:14-15) For if you forgive men when they sin against you, your heavenly Father will also forgive you. But if you do not forgive men their sins, your Father will not forgive your sins.

I just get this guilt and I feel like too bad to come before God after I sin. Because I know better...
We are all sinners *hug*

Isaiah 64:6 We are all infected and impure with sin. When we display our righteous deeds, they are nothing but filthy rags. Like autumn leaves, we wither and fall, and our sins sweep us away like the wind.

I already apologized. I just feel too guilty every time I sin and feel unworthy of Gods forgiveness.

If you already apologize to your brother, than God has forgiven you. So now you need to focus on continuing to do good to others and to not give up. Do not fall away just because of one mistake. Stay firm in the faith and continue to obey God's commandments please. I hope all goes well for you.

I already apologized. I just feel too guilty every time I sin and feel unworthy of Gods forgiveness.

Do not let anyone tell you that you should go on sinning just because God's children are sinners. God did not call us to continue to live sinful lives. We are called to live a pure and holy life before God according verse 2 Timothy 1:9.

If you believe that Jesus is the "Begotten Son" of God who has rose again on the third day due to death on the cross, and believe that Jesus is our Lord and Savior who is now sitting at the right hand of the father in heaven, God's grace will be with and he will forgive you, but if you deliberately keep on sinning after you have received the knowledge of the truth, no sacrifice for sins is left, but only a fearful expectation of judgment and of raging fire that will consume the enemies of God (Hebrews 10:26-27).

No one who lives in him keeps on sinning. No one who continues to sin has either seen him or known him (1 John 3:6).

"Everyone who confesses the name of the Lord must turn away from wickedness" (2 Timothy 2:19).

What happens when a believer disobeys God? They will become cursed.
To learn about curses and plagues, read Deuteronomy 28:15-68 "Curses for Disobedience" and Leviticus 26:14-46 "Punishment for Disobedience."

==========================================================================

FROM THE BOOK OF 1 JOHN:

(1 John 3:4-10)
Everyone who sins breaks the law; in fact, sin is lawlessness. But you know that he appeared so that he might take away our sins. And in him is no sin. No one who lives in him keeps on sinning. No one who continues to sin has either seen him or known him. Dear children, do not let anyone lead you astray. He who does what is right is righteous, just as he is righteous. He who does what is sinful is of the devil, because the devil has been sinning from the beginning. The reason the Son of God appeared was to destroy the devil’s work. No one who is born of God will continue to sin, because God’s seed remains in him; he cannot go on sinning, because he has been born of God. This is how we know who the children of God are and who the children of the devil are: Anyone who does not do what is right is not a child of God; nor is anyone who does not love his brother.

(1 John 5:1-5)
Everyone who believes that Jesus is the Christ is born of God, and everyone who loves the father loves his child as well. This is how we know that we love the children of God: by loving God and carrying out his commands. This is love for God: to obey his commands. And his commands are not burdensome, for everyone born of God overcomes the world. This is the victory that has overcome the world, even our faith. Who is it that overcomes the world? Only he who believes that Jesus is the Son of God.

(1 John 5:16-20)
If anyone sees his brother commit a sin that does not lead to death, he should pray and God will give him life. I refer to those whose sin does not lead to death. There is a sin that leads to death. I am not saying that he should pray about that. All wrongdoing is sin, and there is sin that does not lead to death.

We know that anyone born of God does not continue to sin; the one who was born of God keeps him safe, and the evil one cannot harm him. We know that we are children of God, and that the whole world is under the control of the evil one. We know also that the Son of God has come and has given us understanding, so that we may know him who is true. And we are in him who is true—even in his Son Jesus Christ. He is the true God and eternal life.

I am glad that these verses had helped you. I hope you will continue to grow and mature in Christ as I have grew and matured in Christ.

(1 Peter 2) Therefore, rid yourselves of all malice and all deceit, hypocrisy, envy, and slander of every kind. Like newborn babies, crave pure spiritual milk, so that by it you may grow up in your salvation, now that you have tasted that the Lord is good.

God bless you.

yeah. I just know in my heart that I have to learn when I make these mistakes and try to remember to pray without ceasing. I just wish I could be filled with the spirit 24/7. When I feel God's anointing I have no desire to sin but to love and obey Him. I'll be alright as long as I confess my sins and try not to go back to them right? I really don't want to sin anymore but then when I'm not careful my flesh gets the best of me.

Yes. Learn from your mistakes and do not do them ever again. The sin that you've committed against your brother is a sin that does not lead to death, so you should be relieved that you have been forgiving for such sin. As long as you forgive those who trespass against you, you will be fine alright?

(Ephesians 6:12-18)
For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms. Therefore put on the full armor of God, so that when the day of evil comes, you may be able to stand your ground, and after you have done everything, to stand. Stand firm then, with the belt of truth buckled around your waist, with the breastplate of righteousness in place, and with your feet fitted with the readiness that comes from the gospel of peace. In addition to all this, take up the shield of faith, with which you can extinguish all the flaming arrows of the evil one. Take the helmet of salvation and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God. And pray in the Spirit on all occasions with all kinds of prayers and requests. With this in mind, be alert and always keep on praying for all the saints.

But if you do commit sins that leads to death, be very afraid. Keep watch on yourself and do not commit the abominable sins. Take care.

Real Eyez,
When I was in my early-mid twenties (ie spiritual infancy), I,too, did not know how to get a handle on my furious, foul-mouthed hot temper, nor did I know how to experience true victory and transformation from the inside of my heart. In other words, I relate very much to your frustration.

To begin with, I finally pulled inward and stopped pressuring myself to be some magnificent evangelist for the Lord; I simply had to grow and mature first. Admitting that I was responsible for my behavior and attitude, no matter what the other person did, and taking ownership for my sin was the first step toward liberation and true intimacy with God. Maturity and spiritual success comes when you're remorseful and yet adult enough to admit to yourself, God, and others that you were wrong and don't make excuses for your blame. Believe me, blame only fosters more anger and creates a victim mentality.

Ultimately, don't be afraid to open up the Bible and admit to God that you need a loving rebuke through the Word (His Word serves as a mirror to our own blindness). The Holy Spirit can be very gentle and He wants you to be a light in the world, which you can be!

Thanks I totally get what your saying. I guess I need to take time to learn more and grow as a christian. And read the word more. I have been preaching alot to everybody just out of love because I want everyone to be saved. And yeah blame does make me feel like the victim. Thanks for your time though. :amen:
