CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

I was little then, with my family having just moved back to southern California, where I was born quite earlier but could not remember those earlier times, I still have the memory of there being Helms Bakery, and the deliveries done then for availability of bread.

There were Pronto markets back then. There were different stores there when I was so young that I could name still, and I have more perspective that I can understand how the world around those who were as old then when I was young had changed so much, and knowing something of the history of the last century it would have been even more intense change for them. I think I am in better shape though at this age. I don't think people went out as much, to eat, like at restaurants, as people do now, and I suspect there are more restaurants and eating establishments now. Not that I go out for that. I made changes and with making meals at home I made them better and better, with more variety I am using, with healthy choices and making them more tasty, maybe I am biased but I think I make better meals to enjoy than I would get elsewhere. I really am in better shape for some things than who I have known to be at about this age among others, especially from back then, or at times since, though I do have my own health concerns serious enough to me.
