  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Look a creed is a statement of belief. If you don't belive everything in the creed you are not redeemed by Christ.
I'm assuming you are referring to one specific creed, IE the Nicene one. Remember that there are numerous creeds, confessions, and statements of faith... and they are not all the same.

Not because of the creed itself but because the creed is a way of summing up the most basic things every true Christian should belive.
The "true Christian" moniker is something I find really funny.

You've heard of the "no true scotsman" fallacy, right?

Its really silly to let it bother you. Just say the creed if you belive in what it has to say. Its a way of reinforcing your beliefs.
I have no need to repeat a formal statment to reinforce my beliefs. And really, how does it do that anyway? You either believe something, or don't. repeatedly SAYING you do, doesn't change, or bolster the beliefs.

otherwise.... I believe I'm a millionaire. I believe I'm a millionare. I beleive I'm a millionare..... nuts. Isn't working.

This is an absurd statement. I nor anyone has any need to agree with any creed to have Christ redeem them from their sins, outside of Romans 10:9-10 that is.
