Scholar's "Elect have already been chosen"... Please don't let this discourage anyone from pursuing God. It's an issue that is bantered around back and forth among Christians. Some believe that; others believe we are all chosen, and God in a sense of timelessness happens to know who chooses to follow; others believe that we have total freedom of choice. All the beliefs are based on scripture. God knew every soul in the womb, and has counted the hairs on our heads, and has kept our tears in a vessel. If you are thinking about God, you can be sure you will be accepted.
Jesus died as the sacrifice for the sins of all mankind...any future believers who had believed any religion (or atheism) can choose to take him up on it, setting aside contradictory beliefs.
He didn't declare the mass murderers exempt from the justice system, but provided a way for a hopeful future.
Perfection's "Already forgiven"....I think this statement was made with the understanding that when Jesus died for everyone, he set up the forgiveness plan for anyone who chose to use it. If you don't pick up your ticket, you don't get on the train. But you can always catch the next train.
"Original Sin"...I think Scholar is referring to humans' tendency to sin. Jesus provided for all our sin to be erased, but we are still prone to sin, and absolutely have free choice. So we will. And we'll learn from our mistakes.
