People are so selfish and hurtful that I'm done, period.

The General Mental Health Forum is now a Read Only Forum. As we had two large areas making it difficult for many to find, we decided to combine the Mental Health & the Recovery sections of the forum into Mental Health & Recovery as a whole. Physical Health still remains as it's own area within the entire Recovery area.
If you are having struggles, need support in a particular area that you aren't finding a specific recovery area forum, you may find the General Struggles forum a great place to post. Any any that is related to emotions, self-esteem, insomnia, anger, relationship dynamics due to mental health and recovery and other issues that don't fit better in another forum would be examples of topics that might go there.
If you have spiritual issues related to a mental health and recovery issue, please use the Recovery Related Spiritual Advice forum. This forum is designed to be like Christian Advice, only for recovery type of issues. Recovery being like a family in many ways, allows us to support one another together. CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
I officially hate every human being.

The OP title would suggest that you also hate yourself, being human, and all. It would also suggest that you hate "the man Christ Jesus", who forever took upon Himself the nature of mankind, being engraven upon the palms of His hands, for you, me and all of those selfish and hurtful people, because Jesus saw us all hurt by the devil, and by ourselves.

I find animals to be very helpful during times I have similar feelings...they just have a wonderful calming effect on me, even if it's just watching them on live cams online. I hope you will experience more kindness and love from people soon.

But I understand. There are selfless people out there, but I agree they're hard to find sometimes. As far as hurtful, well, my most selfless friend can be hurtful sometimes. But I've learned to see things from his perspective and realize that, though sometimes it's just him, sometimes it really is his circumstances that he acts so coldly and distant and I'm the one being kind of selfish for not taking time to realize that.

I look around sometimes and see all the murders, thefts and destruction and it's tempting to agree with you.
But every day, ordinary, average people risk their lives to help others, they give money to charity, they house the homeless, they adopt the orphaned and they care for the widow.
Sometimes mankind can be really disgusting. But sometimes we do amazingly good things.
Never give up.

It is true and I have felt that way many times. Yet, I am reminded of what I was and what I am and God's love toward me despite it. How can Jesus love such a wreck such as myself? I am the chief of sinners and I do fail everyday to be the Christian that I am called to be, yet his love does not ever fade or grow weary, it is ever constant and new.
If God so loved a sinner such as yourself, with all of your failures and sins and weaknesses, let that warm your heart toward your neighbor who remains in darkness.

This is true, and I often feel the same way, but the problem I run into is....realizing I too can be selfish and hurtful, and probably at my worst when I feel this way. When I am done, it's like I do not care, when I do not care, I only care about myself, is like a viscous cycle, one I have to pray to God to deliver me from, to turn my eyes away from these afflictions and focusing on self to instead focus on Christ and His sufferings on my behalf. Tends to put things into proper perspective.

In my opinion, the ones that say they hate the world, it's because they are the foreigner in a strange land. They are the healthy ones, for those that are [not] friends with the world are friends with God.
So keep on hating your life in this world....it proves that you just might be a Child of God.

Um... I think what Thess is saying is true in a sense, that we shouldn't be ultimately seeking comfort in this world. However, I think Thess' explanation comes across as a bit... fatalistic?
God doesn't ask us to be enemies of the world anymore than He asks us to be friends of the world. It's a delicate balance. Befriending someone of the world is not the same as befriending the world and becoming part of it. It can slide into that if you're not careful, and that's where you need to be continually seeking wisdom and setting boundaries.
Christians are supposed to have love for others just like Jesus did. Loving the world in that sense doesn't mean loving all the things that are messed up about it. It's like loving someone because of who they could be and sometimes are, not because of the messed up things they do.
